HIS NAME AND HIS VOICE

Let me tell you about His Name.
His Name is blessed, marvelous,
wonderful !!
His Name is full of hope and promise !!
Blessed is HE who comes in the Name
of the LORD !!
Emmanuel--GOD dwells with us !!
They shall call His Name Jesus,
for He shall save His people
from their sins.
In the Name of Jesus; people were
delivered from darkness, healed of
their illness, and saved from their
sins !!
There is no other Name given in
heaven or on earth where by we may
be saved !!

Let me tell you about His Voice.
His Voice is mighty upon the waters,
full of majesty, like thunder !!
It breaks the cedars, shakes the
wilderness, makes the hinds to calve.
All earth and heavens tremble and
quake at the sound of His Voice !!
His Voice spoke and the worlds were made !!

His Voice spoke and calmed the storms.
He spoke and brought healing to the sick,
forgiveness to the sinner, life to the dead,
sight to the blind, and peace to the
troubled soul !!

There is no other Name given in
heaven or on earth where by we may
be saved !!

[i]And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.[/i]
(Acts 2:21 ESV)

We normally think of this verse in the context of when a person first becomes saved but it applies to the daily life of being sanctified also. So what does it mean to call on the name of the Lord?

God proclaimed His name to Moses...

[i]The LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation."[/i]
(Exodus 34:5-7 ESV)

I think calling on His name is simply coming to Him for who He is just as He has proclaimed Himself. It's coming to Him, not just in times of trial, but always, just because we want to be with Him. Then we are conformed to Christ and we truly pray "in His name."
