It is interesting to consider that there was no money in the Garden of Eden - that this whole system of buying and selling, which we rely so heavily upon, was not in place. The other day I was making bread and realized that practically my whole day was consumed in buying and selling, and eating and drinking, or the preparation thereof. Somehow this whole idea of "having" things is messed up - possessing, and possessions - these things that actually possess us. The evil behind possessions is the idea that something is "mine" when in fact it is all His. It is a great evil to cling to that which He has intended to be passed on.
