Behold Him

“But we all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image from glory to glory, by the Spirit of the Lord” (2Cor. 3:18). The verb “transformed” is used four times in the New Testament and every time this word is used, without exception, it is in the passive voice. This means that our transformation is something happening TO us, by His Power, His Love, His commitment to each of us individually and personally. For the Spirit of Jesus to be able to do this transforming work upon us, we need to spend time with Him and “Behold” Him with our spirit. Practically? For you and me? TODAY spend time with Him beholding His Glory—admiring Jesus as you read about Him and consider Him, wowing at the Father’s dealings with the human race and the amazing love and stuff that He’s done and is doing for His people, thoroughly enjoying the creative ways the Father and the Son and the Spirit do the amazing things that they do... and the deep love they have for you and all of us. Bask in that. Behold and admire. And you WILL be transformed

I believe that if we could only see
beforehand what it is that our Heavenly
Father means us to be--the souls beauty
and perfection and glory; if we could
have a glimpse of this, we should not
grudge all the woes and pains He is
taking with us now to bring us to that
ideal of holiness, which is His will
for us. We know that it is GOD'S way
to work slowly, so we must not be
surprised if He takes a great many
years of discipline to turn a mere
mortal being into an immortal glorious
being.

For the Spirit of Jesus to be able to do this transforming work upon us, we need to spend time with Him and “Behold” Him with our spirit.

It is beautiful to behold Him in the Spirit, one can't help but to worship Him in His Glory. The more I worship and love God in the Spirit, the more I am transformed into His image. Psalm 22:3 says that God inhabits the praises of His people.

The thing about worship is it transforms you into the image what ever is being worshipped, whether good or bad...think about that one. The Lord grant me moments of intimacy (worship) with Him, that I may be transformed by His Spirit into His likeness.
