Hi, thought I'd look up 'ontological', as I thought it was something to do with abstract concepts.
From the Oxford English Dictionary 1. Of, relating to, or of the nature of ontology; metaphysical; (Theol.) ontological argument n. the argument that God, being defined as the most great or perfect being, must exist, since a God who exists is greater than a God who does not.
If I may say so, I'm not sure you can prove the Trinity separate from scripture. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But if I'm not, then it's not possible to have an 'ontological defense for the Trinitarian doctrine'.
I would suggest, humbly, that the whole point of Rom 10:17 would be to establish that God is more concrete than concrete. Hebrews 11:1.
You might pick up a book by Robert Morey called "Trinity: Evidence and Issues." It's pretty much the definitive work on the study of the doctrine of the Trinity from the Scriptures and includes every conceivable argument.
