Many of us take for granted faith and think they have faith when all they have is convictions and intellectual consent to the truths of scriptures. Faith is a gift, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God."(Ephesians 2:8).
Even the increase of faith is included i believe
as a good gift of God (James 1:17). every good and perfect gift comes from God.
Without faith is imposible to please God. Faith implicitly trusts the promises of God and the faithfulness of God in accoplishing what he says about us. Faith is rooted in the charater of God himself. God does not change like we do, and he keeps his words.
By personal experience i have discern spiritually that most of the time i have not had true faith but only intellectual consent to the fundamental doctrines of the bible.
Faith gives an inner assurance that we are rightly related to God our Father thru Jesus Christ. Its not based on feelings but on the word of God . True faith on Jesus leads to a personal relatioship with the heavenly Father.Obidient faith will confess the sins of the heart and count on the blood shed on the cross for forgiveness. it will surrender to God and receives the Spirit blessing in the heart.
It is sensitive to the gentle voice of the Spirit and will be careful not to greive the Spirit. Sencere faith keeps a good conscience and longs for and practices the presence of God daily. Soon or later, God will grant peace of heart to a longing and thirsting soul.
Its by holy boldness that we are commended to come to the Throne of grace to find mercy in time of need. Its by faith we receive the holy Spirit to indwell our hearts and by faith we are filled with the Holy Ghost. The secret of a victorious living is Jesus Christ living in our heart by faith, not by the observance of the law of Moses.
Faith and obedience to God are necessary for living a holy life, which will be acceptable to God. Without holiness no one will see the Lord. What a strong verse. Faith is the means we need to receive the sanctification of Jesus is our hearts.
Work out with fear and trembling your salvation.
Believe.
