I happened upon BYU (Brigham Young University) TV. Five Mormon scholars from BYU were seated around a table expounding the book of Mormon and the Bible. The book of Mormon was prioritized. The deceit was mind boggling. One professor was brought to tears by a passage that had so much meaning for him from, I think, the book of Jacob.Words mentioned were Christ, atonement, Holy Spirit and others Christian terms that we know so well along with a complimentary Bible verse or two.
They mentioned the necessity of good deeds, prayer, perseverance and had an apparent a love for God. I began to think as I observed all of this that this is a working after the flesh.
I wondered how many Christians are living their lives just as Mormons in the flesh."It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all." "You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside is full of dead men's bones and everything unclean".
Am I truly living the Christian life empowered by God the Holy Spirit or going through the motions?
