David the great King

Why did David sacrifice every 15-18 feet?

My own personal opinion is that he realized the neglected reverence.

Thoughts?

What do you mean?

Do you have a scripture to give an example of what you mean?

You know, when David brought the Ark back to Jerusalem. There is nothing said in Scripture, by the LORD, to sacrifice every few paces while moving the Ark.

I believe you are refering to 2 Samuel 6v13 which says, 'And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep'.

It doesn't say every 15-18 feet. It looks like it happened only once.

This incident is refered to again in 1 Chronicles 15v26,
'And so it was, when God helped the Levites who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bulls and seven rams'.

It says God helped the Levites, so He certainly was not against what they were doing.

Right, the 6 paces come to a rough 15-18 feet.

So, what you see in Scripture is that there was only one sacrifice along the way?

It would appear so.
