Reformed or Evangelical

Can someone give a brief synopsis or overview of the difference between reformed theology and evangelical? I'm assuming that its sort of like Calvinism and Arminisim?

DISCLAIMER: lol, Before anyone comments on relationship and religion and so on, I understand that I and we are followers of the bible and Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God--this was just an area of interest brought up in the bookstore today and I wanted to see if I could glean from the combined wisdom of the folks here--Thanks!

pdizzle, are you aware that this is a hot topic button that will always end unresolved and with words spoken that end in arguments?

Reformed Theology is Calvinism, not sort of like Calvinism.

There are various forms of Calvinism as no two Calvinists will agree on all Reformed issues.

Each of these doctrines; C & A have problems.

Wisdom tells me to study to show your self approved rightly dividing the Word of God. When doing so, the Holy Spirit will teach and enlighten truth exposing both sides of error.

Remember, Jesus Christ is not a doctrine, or religion.

Blessings,
R.G. Benjamin

"Reformed theology" would fall under the umbrella of Evangelical theology. Basically evangelical theology includes any Christian belief system that teaches how one can be "born-again." Both Reformed and Arminian theologies could be classified as Evangelical.

Hi Rev. Benjamin,
I actually didn't know it was a hot button issue. It wasn't my intention to try to start an argument. Honestly just curious; forgive me if i offended you.

I do not think it is an issue of offense pdizzle. It is more or less just that this discussion has been requested by the moderators to avoid. As there are many threads on the subject you can look up through the search button at the top right hand corner of the home page.
