Greg,
There are two main issues revealed to me from the Lord, and i really do not understand why i have been so dumb and stupid to have missed it all along. Guess it just goes with our sheeple terrain on Tellus: ...baaa...
(i'm actually quite a bit more stupid than people think. Not in the pennywise, pound foolish department. It's like i remember facts that interest me, but i am often too dumb to put the puzzle together...either that or just neglect to bother. (my dad says i'm smart as a whip, but dumb as a post...thoughts about a whipping post now come up.)
anyhow,
When a post/thread is responded to, it is not only in prayer, but a time of introspection, asking if the response is just a mirror of defects (sin) in me (Mt7:1,2; Rom. 2:1,2,3, and nearly always is recognized, to some extent, my own failures in following God's way relative to the failure i see around me... but he keeps on cleaning us (Eph, 5:25,26; Jn. 17:17, Jas. 1:21,22,23) as we continue.
It's been found that prayer for errors in bretheren has resulted in some might quick fixes in me, often me not even recognizing that the problem noticed had been straightened out through no effort of my own.
Anyway, back to being dumb and stupid, missing the whole point:
When praying regarding that post sent from here on Mt. 6:33, God say, "so you think you got it all figured out hunh?"
Getting wise in my own eyes, i thought, 'well, i'm getting there at least.'
As quick as that thought went out, another came from Him, "you do not have the sleightest clue! You yeild up your right to make decisions and We will see just how wise and right you are.."
i got scared, i mean shaking scared.
i wanted to go hide in a closet,
but where can i go that He is not there???
(i mean, when He takes charge in these things, it's kinda' like going to the doctor for a persistent headache, and rather than just alleviating the pain, he does a total check-up, then the doc says, "ahhhmmm, you have sinus congestion...and a brain tumor. We have to take care of the hidden problem before it gets worse.)
Well, in beginning to deal with 'my' power to decide (which really is no power at all), i asked, "why have so many of our brothers and sisters been praying and praying and praying for revival and there are only mediocre spurts of it here and there?"
The answer was almost booming, and my daughter came running up the stairs, "Dad, was that thunder or an explosion... and why are you talking to yourself again."
She was told and now for all ya'lls eyes:
(re: why no revival)
1.) There is no fear of God. People have been lied to for so long, thinking that fear of God is reverence...and that is the question i brought up about no fear of Him. I was referred to Heb, 12:25,26,27,28,29, and it was pointed out that reverence and fear of God are two distinct things (v. 28).
New there are alot of verses that clarify this fear of God is accompanied with trembling. How many verses say that about reverence?
2.) This one is a given and stems off of 1.). It's what we are to do before we pray. It's not the prayers that give God's eyes with his hearing. He hears our prayers alright.
The question is: are we seeking His face or his ear? Humility borne out of fear of God gets His eyes.
In this is seeking His face: to have Him look on us and hear our prayers.
II Chron. 7:15,16
(consider 'this house' in v. 16, relative to the New Covenant, and of Paul's words to the Corinthians, "...know ye not ye are the temple of the Holy Ghost?..."
There were other verses brought to attention in Isaiah regarding revival: Is. 57:15, 66:2,5...and more.
i have never been taught this nor have i heard any sermons regarding this.
Am i the only one who has been in the dark about this very issue?
I mean, i hear others saying to keep on praying and storm the gates of heaven, but to me that has had little effect, much less any great response from God that...until last night perhaps?; and it was just a simple question while having that unavoidable appointment with Dr. Jesus.
Continual prayer for revival and even travail often seem to be, welllll, kinda' like God's second best to me, and now i know why...i think...baaa
There were so many verses that just all of a sudden seemed to come together regarding all this.
In relation to this, that previous post from yours truly on this thread, the last comment regarding waking up or judgement now makes so much more sense here than just saying it just because it bubbled up from inside: "God resists the proud but gives grace to who? Pride goes before destruction..."
CIAO!

Acts 20:32

p.s.s. Have you ever seen 'em shear sheep? They flip em' on their back so they quit bleating. (suddenly i recognize more merit in prostration -before the Lord- than ever before. Now it's not only an intentional act of submission, but it is more clearly understood how "Be still, and know I AM God' is fitting in this. (When you keep on talking, it's hard to hear anybody speaking to you, unless it booms like thunder.
