Proverbs 16:6 - Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil.
The "theology" of Hell seems to naturally give men a fear of the Lord and future punishment for sin. This should obviously want men to turn from evil, but realistically it doesn't. Man on the earth is still living as if Hell never exists and God would not send most "good" people there for their 'minor' sins.
I think most people truly doubt the reality of HELL.
Homestly I too sometimes wrestle with the incredible truth that HELL exists and billions of people will end up in such a place becuase of their sins. It causes me such grief to think that family members, others will be spending their eternity in a place such as Hell described in God's word.
If this is true... then how should we live for Him?
I don't want to be a robot, but have love for God, not out of fear of punishment. It seems like most of the world looks at God in this way. I want people I share the good news complelled fear God, turn from evil, trust Him for salvation and chose him, because they love Jesus for what He did on the cross.
