Why Revival Tarries Leonard RavenhillI have just purchased this book and can't put it down! My heart litterally feels it's on fire as i read it and is causing me to turn to the Lord in prayer. I want to draw closer to God in prayer and to pray with tears, REAL tears! Even when i go through those dreaded dry seasons i want to be able to push through and keep praying for revival, for my family, my pastor...What an inspiring, life changing book drawing you deeper into THE book! Im still on chapter sixteen but it will be unquestionably my book number 1.2.Knowledge of the holy A.W.Tozer3.? I have to think on this for a while, i just wanted to share my enthusiasm ;-) (Before i discovered SI i had never heard of Leonard Ravenhill and he's from Leeds not far from here!)

Lol... I'm really shocked that Why Revival Tarries is not everybody's most favorite :) I thought when I read this thread initially that it was to be assumed.

Praise God, that we're identified as a group that longs for the fire of REVIVAL!!! ... '0)i'd listed the God Chasers as my 3rd. book, but had to change it when the Spirit reminded me of The Refiner's Fire ... It was that book that God used to open me up to our need for REVIVAL!

1. I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris2. Effective Prayer Life by Chuck Smith3. When God Writes Your Love Story by Eric & Leslie LudyThe first really changed the way I viewed relationships when I read it back in 1998. I would have to say that I do like Joshua Harris' follow-up book "Boy Meets Girl" a lot better because he touches more upon the motives of the heart rather than on dating vs. courting. The second, well, helpled me understand more about prayer, around 2001. Pretty self explanitory. The third I read this past summer and it really just made me fall more in love with God. The follow-up book, "When Dreams Come True", had an equal impact. There's many more, but you said 3. So... not going to break the rules.

My Utmost for His Highest - Oswald ChambersAhh regrets.. hmm can I change my options.. :-P wow this is great that people are sharing this.. it really shows how God is working in the hearts of many that come to SI, what quality of books God has used to impact our lifes ontop of scripture. I look forward to seeing more of others members on SI. Praise God.
