But neither should we forget the real nature of our freedom.
Mt 5:20
Mt 5:17,18,19...
------------------------------------------------------------
Many fail to understand the nature of God's freedom given.
Jesus CHrist sets us free...YES.
Jesus Christ sets us free to serve Him.
In chapter 6 of Matthew, He states no man can serve two masters. It's a one or the other kind of thing. No exceptions.
Alot of folks think they have been set free to do whatever they want:
Come as you are,
and leave the same way you are after having recieved the free gift of salvation.
That is a doctrine of demons.
Salvation is not in repentance alone but in conversion as well. It's one coin with two sides. So it's repeated, we are not saved by changing our minds, but changing our actions because of this.
Eternal life is knowing Jesus and our Father.
Jn. 17:1,2,3
Most are decieved about the nature of regeneration.
Many think that the cross is eternal life, and really it's the raeson covenant with God is possible: walking with God. It's merely the onset, contrary to what most media preachers and nominal churches say.
I Sam. 15:22,23
Sure taking part in His death is neccessary toward salvation. Yet, failure to mention the walk in a new life that is the result is standard proceedure for most nominal -'christian(?)'- religious organisations.
When Jesus is talking about eating His flesh and drinking His blood, Jn. 6:5, in essence, he is saying that "unless you take part-and-parcel in/of Me"...
This is only possible through relationship: Jn. 14:15,21,13.
This is the eternal life He prays about in Jn. 17:3.
In chapter seven we find Jesus talking about the wise man building his house on the rock, and most think He is alluding to Himself and in essence, as the Living Word of God, he is.
What this entails many ignore...so this thread resulted.
How many know God and how many know religion?
The rock Jesus speaks about in Chapter 7 of Matthew, as all the passages mentioned in this post relate to it.
THE ROCK he speaks of
IS OBEDIENCE to His word,
to hear and to do:
Mt. 7:21,22,23,24ESV
Jesus also makes very clear that many will miss this very point. Something about a gate so small one person can barely squeeze through fits right here, as well as a very narrow path. Compare this to the yawning abyss and the highway to hell most do not even realize they are on.
The real nature of our freedom is realized in faithful obedience to God's will, ways, and purpose from beginning to end.
