Greek nouns

I was hoping to find someone familiar with the greek text on this one. From my understanding nouns or personal nouns (i'm not sure if there needs to be a distinction made) fall into 3 categories. Masculine, Femenine, and neuter, but they don't necessarily refer to the nouns gender in the greek. Could someone with a handle on this enlighten and teach me the greek basics concerning the above question. Thanks you so much in advance!

Your question doesn't seem to make sense.
The noun is either of the 3 genders. You usually can tell its gender by the spelling of the noun/ its suffix etc.
Many languages have genders for their words, and may or may not refer to sexual identity.

I think this is a problem for English speaking people only. Most languages have nouns in masculine, feminine and neuter. This has nothing to do with sexual gender but is simply the way the grammar works in those languages. (there is a very funny essay by Mark Twain on learning German that illustrates the problem very well)

The Greek word for Spirit is neuter but that does not mean the Spirit is an 'it' although some older translations by being slavishly literal can give this impression. eg
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Rom 8:16, 26 KJV

These verses have often been a stumbling block to young Christians but it is simply the way the Greek language works. So the noun or pronoun will have to have the article or adjectives 'agreeing' with the noun in 'gender'.
