Frustration Please Pray

M
mguldner Jun 25, 2010

I would just like to ask for prayer, lately I have been going through a lot of frustrating feelings. A lot of it has to do with life in general but more or less I am going through a weird season in my walk with just feels dead and dull, I hear and read about oh How God loves us deeply and I know this to be true. I guess what my frustation is not feeling this Love personally nor understanding it nor being able to express this Love back. As I read my bible and pray it has truly been by simple Faith that what is on the pages and what I read and what I pray is really coming and touching my heart. I look at my walk with the Lord and see no reality of the truths as much as I want to see them and it seems that I am trapped and unable to move from where I want to go and where I feel I should be.

I see a church that is dying and a people that are looking for selfish gain, a generation lost and another generation that doesn't really care. When I read my bible I want to see what is written become real in my life and a reality in my church and the Church. I guess I am just getting discouraged and I will keep pressing on into this season and rest in the Fact that God knows what HE is doing. I guess we can't always be on the Mountain :) but I know that its in the Valleys that we truly grow and are tested, May God test me and give me the grace required to pass this test and get through this Valley. Any prayer is appreciated and/or advise.

God Bless,
Matthew

There is no doubt in my mind brother that your very real and genuine.

You've probably prayed the same prayer we all prayed, "Lord, I want to know you", and "Lord, whatever it takes, whatever the cost, do it!".

If He told us what we were going to go through, we'd probably find a back door somewhere to escape, but He gradually brings us into the valley of the shadow of death and though we end up making our bed in hell, He is right there with us.

I know the feeling about that lack of love that we feel from God and the lack of love that we have for our fellow man. It is very discouraging and believe me, you begin to wonder if your even a Christian.

There is no lack of love from God, and I know you know that to be true. However, when we are discouraged we say things that we don't mean.

If I may be so bold as to say, your not alone in this, there is a tremendous amount of believers who frequent this site and the many that do not are experiencing or have experienced what you are going through. I include myself in that number and the many believers that I know in my city are walking that same walk. They know that Jesus is true, they know that this is a "cross" walk and they want to go all the way with Jesus whatever the cost, but it's like getting married, we really don't know what we are getting into until we wake up the next morning. Everything seems so perfect at first but the honey is over and now is the time to understand one another. Our likes and our dislikes. And personally, we don't like how God chastises us, it's only afterward that we appreciate the work that He has accomplished in us to make us into the image of Christ.

I have gone through many depressions throughout my life, many times afflicted, and through those awful periods He has kept my mind from going crazy. Each time that I have cried out for salvation, for help, He has always come at the right time to rescue me out of my misery.

Believe me, I have laid upon my bed and asked, "Lord, do you love me?". "Am I even in the boat?", "Where are you?"

If any man has examples for us it's David in his Psalms.

Brother I pray for you and would encourage you in the Lord. Sometimes we focus on other things too much. We need to focus on our Lord and how much He loves us. We only are able to love Him because He first Loved us.

We just need to follow God in what He has placed before us and also given us the ability to do. If we would be faithful in a few things then he will make us ruler over many things.

We can't follow God worrying about what others are doing or even measuring ourselves to others but we are to follow God only in where He leads us.

John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
John 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
John 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
John 21:18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.
John 21:19 This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
John 21:20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?
John 21:21 Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
John 21:22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
John 21:23 Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?

Blessings to you!

Thank you brother Snuf, I am glad I am not the only one that goes through this kind of thing and I was looking in the Psalms and see that David seems a little mixed up on how he feels from psalm to psalm I take encouragement in that the man that God called after His Heart also went through Valleys as well.

*edit Added*
Thank you also Rbanks, these words also encouraged me as well, I hope to put my focus on Jesus and Keep them there.

Hello Brothers and sisters,

I have been reading this text, and it is enlightening brother snufalapagus to have authentic and very honest people like urself that have gone through the irons of fire with God. Many of u do not understand the Almighty, for I feel as though I am smited by my circumstance in life, I have no control over it, I am suffering with Severe anxiety attacks that are just whooping my butt.

I call out and I call out in precious tears, but it seems a though I am just on my own in one sense, but in another sense, his word is true and victorious, so I have the hope in Him and the courage that I fell he gives me to wait on his brightness and power.

I ache right now in wonder and concern if he will deliver me, it just feels as if I am all alone. My wife is watching me go through these bouts, I have my children that are curious as to something going on with their father. I am not exempt from any type of suffering, but when it hits u or literally occur, and we cannot stop it or speed up the process, it is so painful and sometimes discouraging.....

Is there any word from the Lord for me?

Bless u brothers n sisters

Psalms56:8 "You have taken account of my wanderings;
Put my tears in Your bottle
Are they not in Your book?"

Brother all your tears you have not cried in vain all of your tears God counts and holds in a bottle. I will be praying for you.

Just listened to a great Keith Green Sermon Devotions or Devotion. I believe that maybe I was falling under condemnation because I haven't been reading my bible as much because my wife is off of work because of an injury she got and so I have to help her more rather than read my bible and pray as much. I find myself reading throughout the day and praying and thinking about God throughout the day. I definitely need to do everything I do during the day as if I am doing it for the Lord Jesus. If you haven't listened to that sermon it is great stuff.

God Bless,
Matthew

Matthew,

Brother, I know you where many hats, husband, father, son, sibling, friend, worship leader, worshipper,if I could humbly recommend that you ask the Lord where you can find time that you can give over to Him: not necessarily to read the word but to worship Him, to praise Him, and just bask in His presence. He desires us to do that, you know!

Also, I pray that you begin to walk so close to Him that when your working, helping your wife, playing with your kids, doing son stuff, doing husband stuff, sibling stuff, worship leader stuff, that when you pray or think something in your mind, your next thought is the Holy Spirit answering you!!! Woo hooooo!!

God bless you Matthew and I will be praying for your wife! I hope she heals 100% and you both become a team of steam for Jesus!!

God bless you brother!!!

I hope you KNOW by now that living the Christian life is totally impossible for you.

The real truth is that God does not intend for you to live the Christian life!!!! YES!!!!

The true gospel message is that your old sinful corrupt self was actually crucified with Christ on the cross. Christ does not come into your life but He is your life. You died with Christ and no longer have a life.

I prayed this:

I give up on the trying to live a Christian life. Lord Jesus, You know now that I've gone about trying to live my whole life the wrong way. I have tried and tried to live for You. I have tried, with Your help, to please you and to do a work for You. But today, Lord, I quit. I am not going to even try anymore. I understand now that You are my very life. So whatever needs to be done, You will have to do it in me and through me. I am going to rest in You and whatever happens - happens. You are my life.

I have noticed that we spend a lot of time together, we have playful bickering every now and then and what not what I think is normal spouse stuff but today we did a bible study together Philippians 3, we have been going through Philippians together reading it, writing down our thoughts, and then sharing so we can grow from each other. I find that as a male I think intellectually while my wife looks at things through a more of an emotional viewpoint which is great because we both learn a lot. My wife learned today that Christ Jesus is the eternal Son of God, she thought that Jesus was created in the womb and that is when His life started but I explained to her the best I could and she finally got it! It was awesome seeing her understand this spiritual truth. I will continue to minster to my wife through prayer and studing with her. Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement!

God Bless,
Matthew

Tuc I do know this actually its a truth that I am just now learning I have a God's Promises book and I started highlighting the scriptures in the book it started off with Who Jesus is HE is our Saviour, Lord, Love, Peace, Forgiveness, Righteousness, Deliverer, Fellowship, Example, Companion, Brother, Guardian, Security, Sufficiency, Fulfillment, Everything! HE IS ALL IN ALL Everything in the past that I have tried to accomplish I am not submitting to who HE is and that as the last thing says EVERYTHING! I am slowly started to feel release from the condemnation of the religious spirit I dwelt in for so long.

God Bless,
Matthew

When I find myself frustrated; what helps
is this: I remind myself of all GOD has
done for me, with me, and in me.
Then I thank HIM once again for all HE
will do in my life!!
