Prayer request for a friend and his son.

One of my best friends who lives in El Dorado Springs, Missouri called me today. He accidentally ran over his youngest son with a riding lawn mower. Apparently his son was out in the yard playing and hiding. When he came out from his hiding place he ran right into his father who was backing the lawn mower up.

His son is going to live, but he's in pretty bad shape. Without going into detail, he's going to have to have several surgeries and there's going to be years of recovery.

Kenny, the father, is the pastor of a small independent church in El Dorado Springs and this is certainly going to place a financial burden on them.

Please pray for them.

Praying. I have read about situations like this...and they can be extremely stressful. We will continue in prayer as often as possible.

Josiah, the boy hurt in the accident, is doing very well. He's had at least 12 surgeries in two weeks. The doctors are amazed at how well the skin grafts are working. This evening they received the news that there is no infection in his hand and they can close up the open wound now.

He's going to have a long recovery though. Over the next several years they'll have to break one of the bones in his arm many times in order to extend his arm properly. He's in extreme pain, especially when he wakes up from sleep and the pain meds have wore off.

The family is going to have many thousands of dollars in medical bills from all this.

Kenny and his wife have not lost faith with all that has happened. They continue to give all their trust to God, and He has been faithful to them throughout.

I will pray.
