Trying to evangelise your family and correct Doctrine

Matt 13:

55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? 57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. 58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Matt 12

47 Then one said unto him, Behold , thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said , Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

I find evangelizing my own family the hardest thing in the world. Out of our family only our family our saved! but then we have doctrinal issues.
Our Grandma is the closest to knowing Jesus! but even that is a hard situation!

Even Jesus said that whoever does the will of the Father is my disciple!

Matthew 10:37 KJV
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

How do you stop your Dad from reading the Shack or any of the emergent church books!

It has been so hard just even to bring the issue of Jesus up even at family gatherings, when they try to get of the subject!

Is there anybody who finds it hard evangelizing your family?
If your family is christian do you find it hard to keep them on the straight and narrow from deception?
How do you pray for your family for deception?

Brother, if God has shown you anything by now, it should have been learned that you cannot make anyone do anything!!! (huge grin) We don't really control people! Our focus in on Christ and doing His will.

Firstly, if I may offer my opinion on a verse and I'm not saying you are a prophet but I AM saying that the following verse holds MUCH truth about those who know us better than anyone else - our family and friends.... it's John 4.44.

And secondly, brother, you must walk in faith that if you cannot speak into their lives, God will send someone to them who can (and it may not be in your time! [i.e. they may still read The Shack]). All you can really do is pray; pray that they have ears to hear whoever God sends into their life. Trust the Lord.

Remember also that ministering takes time (give God time to acomplish this task!!), remember the verse 1 Cor 3:6-10; some people come along to plant the seed, others come along to water it but it's God who gives the increase, not you or them.

Deltadom, I believe that our family is definitely one area where we must walk by faith and not by sight in (2 Cor 5.7). You must be faithful to what God has called you to. There have been many saints of God who have walked in faith and then had to die in faith that the SAME Jesus who called them from death unto life will love their family (children, parents, grandchildren) and do the same for them!!

Focus on Jesus, delta, and not the deception or your family; Jesus alone!!

Pray against the deaf and dumb spirit! Even the disciples who were with Jesus were not hearing. This deaf and dumb spirit affected them. They were supposed to be able to cast out this spirit, but they could not do it because they had a hearing problem. ----------> Mark 9:14-29

The deaf and dumb spirit is a spirit that comes against the Church and it justifies and perpetuates a religious spirit. The deaf and dumb spirit will cut off faith to create an atmosphere where a religious spirit can reign. It will cut off faith in order to perpetuate that spirit to keep you hwere you're at. The deaf and dumb spirit will cut off faith because it will block your hearing. ----------->Rom 10:17

Read the story of the possessed boy that was foaming out of his mouth. Notice that it says the deaf and dumb spirit made the boy stiff and rigid. WHEN WE'RE AFFECTED BY THIS KIND OF SPIRIT, IT MAKES US STIFF AND RIGID. THIS BOY IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE CHURCH IN THIS HOUR. PEOPLE IMPACTED BY THIS SPIRIT TIGHTEN UP BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE TRUTH. THE RELIGIOUS SPIRIT MAKES YOU INFLEXIBLE RENDERING YOU LIKE A STATUE THAT CAN'T MOVE.
