Holiness

I read this article by this young man, and it makes me feel very sad for him. Jesus Christ did not die on the cross to give our young people a license to sin. He died on the cross,and rose the third day to set us free from sin. He who the Son sets free is free indeed,(or action). The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.(which is in our members, or body.) I was saved in 1983, God set me free from drugs,alchohol,and cigarettes immediatley.There were other character flaws within me that have taken a little longer,but that was due to me. I have never tried to justify my sin, or call sin ok. If Gods word calls it sin,then that is what it is. I am not saying that I am perfect, only Jesus is 100% perfect, but I am not the same person I was when God first saved me. The Lord Jesus Christ has changed me for His glory. I do not understand people who think they can live like the devil ,and still enter into heaven. Jesus said that only the pure in heart would see God. If any young people read this ,please allow the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ to transform your heart. Don't be deceived into thinking that you have to stay a slave to sin. You do not.Christ can transform your heart into a beautiful habitation Of God. The Holy Spirit has more than enough power. There is a ressurection side of the cross. Glory!!!!!!!!!!!! The life I live now ,I live by the faith of the Son of God. And He will take you from glory to glory,and from faith to faith.

When I was younger, I used to get really embarassed when someone mentioned holiness because there was so much ignorance associated with the word. I've even heard of people who wouldn't play marbles because the Bible says "marvel not." A few years ago I was reading Leviticus and I saw holiness in a totally different light! First, I would like to share an illustration:

You are in the mall with your wife and you need to go to the restroom. You walk in the restroom while your wife waits outside the door. As you are in the restroom, you are alarmed to hear your wife struggling. When you get to the door, you see a total stranger with his hands in your wife's clothes touching the most intimate part of her body. What is your reaction? Many would punch the man, some would even kill him. The very thought of such action brings you to anger! This brings me to two biblical terms: 1) the female part of the wife is "holy" and 2) the man who was touching her was not "sanctified" to touch her. Only the husband is sanctified to touch his wife. He is sanctified by 1) his marriage committment and 2) his love for his wife. I feel that this illustration would make it more clear why a loving God struck Uzzah dead when he touched the Ark of The Covenant to keep it from falling off the cart. It was an innocent move, but he touched something that was holy.

Does the prostitute keep her female parts holy? She does; however, the thing that sanctifies a man to touch her is not commitment or love, it is money. The great prostitute of Revelation 17 got that way by giving away that which is holy for money.

Taking the illustration further, a woman keeps her female parts hidden and only reveals them to her husband. They are for him and him exclusively. If we make our lives holy unto God, we will keep our prayer, fasting and alms giving hidden and will share with Him and Him exclusively. Prayer in the car is good and God hears those prayers; however, prayer in the car is not sanctified prayer, or prayer that is set aside exclusively for God.

In Leviticus, the congregation of Israel had certain obligations and restrictions, such as the dietary laws etc. The priests had further restrictions and the high priest had the greatest restrictions. Non-Hebrews or the uncircumcised were not allowed in the temple. The congregation was allowed only in the outer courts. The priests were allowed in the Holy Place and only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies. This tells me that the more I sanctify myself, the more of God's Presence I will be able to access. Saints of God can heal the sick and raise the dead today if we sanctify ourselves to that level. We can have anything God has to offer, if we sanctify ourselves for it!
