sermonindex Jul 18, 2010

Saints,

I have been doing some work on seeing the website preform better and be more responsive. Please send me your feedback, especially if you are on a slower connection.

It seems to be much faster than before.

How do I determine if I have a "slow" connection?

sermonindex Jul 18, 2010

Sister,

If you can download an audio sermons in 2 minutes you have a very fast connection. If it takes 5-10 minutes then you have a slower connection.

If it takes 30 minutes + then you are on dialup.

I am glad to hear the site is loading faster for you. There is still some work to be done but I want to get it loading the best I can so if there is alot more traffic then the site can handle it.

Hi Brother Greg...

I was wondering if the HTML tags (like QUOTE) are working. I can't seem to see them on my computer. I don't know if they are purposely disabled, or if it might be a computer issue.

It is difficult to know who is responding (and to whom) when I read through the posts. I have noticed some confusing is several threads, and I thought that this might be the result of disabled quote tags.

Of course, I apologize if they aren't disabled and this is just something native to my web browser or computer.

An hour and 20 minute sermon downloaded in just 2 minutes.

Thank you for the improvements that you are continually making.

Chris,

I am working on getting the quote feature to work God willing. NO HTML will work but if you just type a weblink like: https://www.sermonindex.net or www.sermonindex.net they will hyperlink automatically once I get it fixed.

any other people care to share how fast the site is loading for them. It has been significantly better for me on this slow connection.

"How do I determine if I have a "slow" connection?"

Speedtest.net - Its Free!
This site will tell your download & upload speed etc..
Just be sure to click on the connnection map & not a banner ad,
The suggested test location is usually marked by a star,
( By giving Greg your download rate, it should help to isolate technical issues - for example mine is 4.05Mb/s, )

It also has a handy box in the top left results area - which gives a scenario of
how long a typical '5Mb MP3' & '35MB' video takes to download - all with YOUR connection!!!

Hope this helps!

Bro. Greg,

Navigating speed within Sermonindex has sginificantly improved. When I select a link, there is much less lag or visible page loading. My internet connection is at the low end of broadband, but I have noticed a substantial difference in page load times.

Thanks for the continued improvements to Sermonindex.
