the following is what i get via email from a dear saint Glenn Adkins who is a street evangelist in Big Bear California, and Hollywood. The dear man can barely get around and drives a van on its last legs, but he witnesses Jesus to lost sinners not for human glory or money, but for Love of Jesus. Ole Glenn is quite an example and underlines how lacking i am in my own walk, and at the same time, his walk tugs my heart with its purity and grace:

From Glenn Adkins Ministry Update: Good morning everyone. Just got back from an outreach street ministry in Hollywood 2:30 AM this Wednesday morning. We left yesterday at 7:30 Am. It was a long day for sure. Marvin Lawrence, my 83 year old friend and neighbor went with me. We were barely able to lift my battery powered four wheeled scooter into the back of my van before leaving. 1st stop at Veteran's Hospital in Loma Linda for Marvin's Pedicure to help his feet. Then on to Culver City where I left my book, Never A Dull Moment:Taking Light Into The Darkness, with the secretary of Trevor Albert's film studio. He produced one of my favorite family films, Because Of Winn Dixie. I met Trevor last year in the studio and sang, Amazing Grace, to him in the office lounge. Trevor shares the studio with James Keach, husband of Jane Seymour who I also met last year. This time I sang Tenderly He Watches Over You to their secretary at Marvin's prompting. :) After that we went to Hollywood, where after unloading the scooter we spent about three hours singing and handing out tracts on the Blvd. My dear friend, Roy Silvernail who lives in Hollywood, came and joined us for awhile. Roy gets around in a powered wheel chair himself.. While there, a man came up to me, drunk as can be, and I gave him a tract. He was cursing and using foul language until he started reading the tract. Suddenly he dropped to his knees at my feet and started repenting. He had known the Lord, but had fallen away. I began praying aloud for him. Then he fell over on his side agonizing before God. Tourists almost tripped over him. When he got up he started saying the Lord's Prayer. I then sang it to him. People stopped all around us to observe this strange happening. :) He gave me a big hug and thanked me and said he was going to the Dream Center in L.A. for help. Later that night we went to Sunset Strip to give support to a friend singing in a CLUB there. When we got back to my apt at around 3 AM, Marvin slipped as he was getting the scooter out and fell on his back. It knocked the breath out of him. I had a hard time getting him back up on his feet. With my problems too, we were both a mess. :) Thank God he wasn't hurt too badly, but I won't let him lift the scooter anymore. This was the first time we tried using the scooter in Hollywood. Pray that I will be able to get a power lift. Until then, I'll have to depend on a couple of strong men for now on, when they are available. But this won't stop the ministry. I'll use the walker with seat when no one goes with me. Getting Younger: Tomorrow, the 25th of July I will turn 69. Just getting started. :)Earlier this month we had to get the ministry van's tranny rebuilt on our personal credit card. Almost $2400. Ouch.Then yesterday, I had to leave my power scooter at scooter store for new batteries and charge connection repairs. Batteries are $120 a piece.The challenges continue, but I trust in God to supply everything we need. Please pray that God sends more folks to help support The Lords Trumpet ministry. As with all ministries, finances are down, and most of our contributors have gone to be with Jesus.of course this limits our ability to travel to do outreaches. If it wasn't for a few of you dear folks now, I would be dead in the water.Not complaining, just want to be able to do more ministry in these crazy times in America.God bless all of you dear folks.The Lords TrumpetP.O.
