The other members of the Intercessory Five are a Fire-baptized 79 year old widow, whose house we convene in, a 52 year old long haired Vineyard pastor, a 60 something year old Vietnam Vet, and a 67 year old attorney who has been walking with the Lord a year now, and yours truly....I'm the baby of the group at 44....I'm the only nut who tacks up cardboard signs.....it's a ministry I reccommend to anyone, anywhere, but especially in rural/suburban/exurban areas. The signs all vary, what I'm trying to do is to implant the Name...the Name of Jesus, whether it be "Jesus is Lord...Jesus is Love, Jesus is Friend.a big hit, even with the pagans was a series of the Beatitudes that I did...."Blessed are....."the meek, the poor.......I began to notice after a while these spooky black signs began to make their appearance, we noticed it when we did a prayer walk, one was screw gunned into a pole, high, very high up, and it was divided into 4 quadrants, and each quadrant had runes written on it....never could figure out what it meant, but God knows, and He's handling it. Its bad news, there are active covens here. as I type this, I'm thinking and praying...you know what would be neat? If a wave of believers on the basis of Jeremiah 31:21 go and out and start making signs. Its simple simple ministry, but its effective. To believers that see the Name hand-lettered , its lifts the spirits like nothing else. To those driving along in pain and doubt, It lets them know where a cool Drink of water may be had.Oh bless God!! Lord bless you Mrs. FredIn His embrace,Neil
Hey Neil,A couple of things, where is the original post?, would like to backtrack on this. The 'I-5' you gotta love it! Know I would like the pastor, being a fellow Nazorite :-) To believers that see the Name hand-lettered , its lifts the spirits like nothing else. To those driving along in pain and doubt, It lets them know where a cool Drink of water may be had.Minus the details of this beforehand, nonetheless I came upon a huge sign up on a construction of apartments, it was a hand made sign in the shape of a bone (for a rock radio station) that some workers must have gone to the trouble of designing, painting. It was up all the time during the day. One day I drove by and someone had flipped it over and painted "Jesus is Lord" on it and it most certainly lifted my spirit. Better yet it always seemed to be flipped to the good side on the weekend and later in the day after everyone had gone home, during rush hour traffic.
theres a thread in the lounge called "compilations" where I started to yammer on about doing the sign ministry.God bless you brotherNeil
I loved your post on signs too.May God Bless your labors.
