Are you salty...or are we being trampled by this world?

After having had the priviledge to witness on an Exchange some thoughts of introspection came to my mind. It's so easy to backslide. It's so easy to get caught in a lukewarm way of living again. Nothing has to be done to put out a fire, but it takes perseverance to keep that fire burning! A work in progress :-P,Paul--------------------------------------------------Look around. Get real. Don't you see "deception" ruling this world? Don't you see "pleasure" is holding people back from eternal life? We live in a world that's heading for destruction. And that's why this world needs to be waken up! But if this will ever come to pass, you and I need to get back on track...This world isn't waiting for a new definition of Christianity, but a new demonstration of Christianity! "That you stand in one spirit contending as one man for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved - and that by God" (Philippians 1:27-28) We're so often scared to share the message of God with our friends...but shout it out towards the Lord and ask Him for boldness, power and authority. Not because you want it, but because it's all for the glory of God! This world is perishing and Jesus stretches out His hand to save it, before He will judge it! Only for a little time Jesus will continue to be the merciful Savior, but not long and He will be the righteous Judge! He has called us to share it and He will meet our needs! As a dear brother stated lately: "You can stop men but you can't stop the Holy Spirit. As Christians we are supposed to be an alarm clock sounding the alarm that it is time to wake up. When we go off, people like to hit the snooze button, but we are sure to go off again!" Are you still alarming? Have you ever cried for your lost friends? I came across a verse in Psalm 119 saying "Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law" (Psalm 119:136). OPEN UP YOUR EYES, it's time to realize that this world is straight heading for eternal seperation from God in hell. And we are responsible for this generation of lost souls. Lord, I wish I could confirm the words of David in my own life. But Father...I've never really cried, wept for my lost friends. I've been lazy in doing Your work. I'm wasting my time with things that only last a short time. I'm wasting my time while my friends and this whole world is heading for destruction. Refine me...Lord, help us to give up everything we have for the sake of Your name and the souls that are lost. Not many will be saved and we might (read: surely will :-)) face a lot of opposition, but we want to obey and follow You. Give us words to speak, give us lives that will show Your glory! Make your message clear to us...in our own lifes....Oh Lord Jesus, that I may waste my life for YOU!

God is calling us to a higher service, to a higher devotion. We're too scared to loose Churchmembers, too scared to shake the crowds, too scared to suffer persecution...but Jesus said to His disciples: "The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me, because I testify that what it does is evil" (John 7:7) We all want to believe that Jesus was loved by everyone. But that's just not true. He was hated. He was crucified! That didn't mean that Christ wasn't full of love and compassion. It meant that the world could not stand the Light. The Lord wasn't a manipulating dictator, He was a dedicated Servant of God. He was hated for His obedience to God, His sharing of the uncompromised truth, His revealing of the Father and His exposing of the true nature of mankind... We as Christians are called to follow the footsteps of the Master and He even promised His disciples the following: "You shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized" (Mark 10:39) I read this comment some minutes ago. Think it through... "And the problem today is that the salts lost its flavor and too many candles are under the bushel and under the bed. Now if the church ever recovers the power to break up demonism in the community it will bring down the wrath of evil and the church may land in jail but she'll learn how to sing in prison, pray down an earth quake. Folks are asking "will the church go underground?" Well she may develop more power underground then she's got above ground these days. We're not going to pray down earth quakes in committee meetings, sipping coffee and reading the minutes of the last meeting." We are the salt of this earth...Do we have salt left, or are we being trampled by this world? (Mat 5:13)

Praise God for your honest talk. Have you been looking and practicing at how to evangelize? There are tangible ways to go about it, like giving away tracts, writing letters, e-mail, street preaching, one-to-one witnessing, phone calls, preaching to telemarketers, giving gifts with tracts in them, the list can go on and on. I hope God is guiding you to learn evangelism. This is one of the most wonderful ways to obey and love God, by telling others about Him.I've been a true christian 3 years, I am like the ones in the bible who say "I cannot speak" but God is using me anyway. He is using the weak (me) and working and changing me to please Him. So, tracts are great, also supporting those brothers and sisters in Christ suffering real persecution, beating, imprisonment, support them with prayer and etc, you can find them at Gospel for Asia and Voice of the Martyrs. I am so blessed to see God answering prayer for my little 4 year old son. He is "open-air preaching" in a way. He goes around talking about God in normal conversation, and he doesn't care where we are, at the park, at the store, anywhere. Talking with him about God openly is such a blessing. I hope and continue to pray God will be with my son and reveal Himself to him, like He did for Timothy in the bible, and Samuel. God seems to be leading and guiding me and my son for homeschooling, I see my little son as John the Baptist or Timothy, it is my greatest prayer, the salvation of my only son, for him to know and love the living God in truth. We are not worthy, I am so thankful God is merciful to me and my son, we are unworthy sinners, my only hope is Jesus.Thank you Lord Jesus for giving Life!! Your promises are the only light in this dark world, help us be faithful witnesses. Help us grow deep roots in good soil, and Lord, continue to thrust forth laborers all over this world! Thank you for hearing my prayer, thank you for this fellowship, thank you for all Your promises in the Bible. Help us obey, help us love more. Thank you, Holy Spirit of Jesus, for being with Your children. In Jesus' name, amen.
