Wesley Disallowed from Baptist Group?

I recently read a blog that stated John Wesley was not allowed to join a Baptist group after returning to Georgia. Have never heard this and was curious if anyone had; and if so, what is the source documentation?

I can't add much to this except to say that I think John Wesley only made the one trip to the US so I can't really fit 'returning to Georgia' into that. On another front I can't really imagine JW ever wanting to join a baptist group. He was thoroughly Anglican and remained to all his life.

Wesley and his followers called themselves
Methodists. Wesley did not hold to the
position of eternal security; so he would
not have become a Baptist!

...neither do all baptists! ;-)
