I would be very grateful if anyone knows of a God fearing church in East Tennesee? This is for an internet aquaintance, used to attend a Baptist church of somesort, but has never met with the living Christ.

Where at in East Tennessee? I know of several churches.
I live around Knoxville and I'd like to know where one is too!!
God bless you,
Lisa
For all and any interested, you may like to look into this one via their website. They have a contact link also.
I have never been there nor do I know anyone there but it's your call. They meet in their homes with several families.
Jimmy,
We used to live in Sevier County (an hour east of Knoxville) so if this is where your friend lives perhaps we can put them in contact with other believers in the area. It is not too terribly far from the East TN Baptist link that Savannah provided.
Jean09,
Please post the churches you know of in east TN. Also, where in CO are you? We live in Elizabeth. Any good fellowship in your area?
Lisa,
There’s a solid Presbyterian church in Knoxville if that is of interest to you.
Savannah,
Thanks for the link. I will have to pass that along to our friends. Btw, I’m glad this post of yours didn’t get “locked.” :)

Perhaps you will find assistance @ www.oldpaths.org. There is a "Directories Of Christ's Churches" there. Go to their Archieves section; under that heading, the Directories section should appear.
In LaFollette Tn the Indiana Ave. Baptist Church. Pastor Mak Partin
Thank you very much for every response. God bless you all.
All of the churches mentioned are Baptist, except Oasis Ministries and sadly for me, that is about an hour and a half from my house but I do watch him on TV!
Just wanted to add that there is nothing wrong with Baptist is one is a Baptist! But I found more acceptance operating in the gifts of the Spirit with the people (who needed them in operation) than I did with the leadership but since it is the leaders who steer the ship....
So I will stick with a more charismatic type church unless the Lord leads me back into the Baptist church!!
God bless us all who is looking for a fellowship!

Several years ago we visited this church, Wellspring Mennonite Church, at Athens, TN., pastored by Verlon Miller. We enjoyed the fellowship.
We were vacationing in the Smokies and wanted to spend the LORD's Day worshiping with Believers and found this church in an Anabaptist directory. The church is very small, consists of mostly young families although by now these children have grown up and are considered youth.
The evening service consisted of everyone sharing an inspiring thought, be it testimony or inspiration that came to them...it was very informal and we could sense love, joy, delight among them.
This was our experience.
