An Uncertain Sound

G
Goldminer Aug 27, 2010

I have been listening to a CD about revival coming to Alabama as a sort of first fruits of what is coming to the nations. I pray it be so. But what spoke to my heart the most from the CD was the warring song at the end of the CD. The music was warring, but the lead singers voice lacked confidence and power. I am not saying this to hurt anybody, but to say this:

1Cr 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

I have thought about this a lot over the last year or so. If we lack confidence in what we believe who will believe us?

I have watched videos of Paul Potts, and Susan Boyle from the Idol programs, what gave them the confidence to stand up there and belt out their gorgeous prefomances? Confidence in their God given gifts. Because they sang for years, maybe in the shower, or on the hillside like Paul Potts did, but they knew the voice they had and what it could do. The gave themselves to their gifts with everything in them.

The young lady in the warring song that I spoke about had no confidence in what she was singing. It was not possible to war with her, because she was not warring. Therefore the words fell to the ground. I am not putting this person down. I am speaking to each one of us. We better know who we have believed and what we believe, and why, because if we make an uncertain sound nobody will listen. If we don't really believe it ourselves how are we to expect anybody else to.

Carter Conlon in the message I sent you earlier talked about how shy and lacking in confidence he was until the Holy Spirit filled him and spoke His message through him. We need to yield our lives to the complete use of the Lord and be filled to overflowing the the Holy Ghost and He will proclaim His word to set the captives free. What is our part?, yielding, and receiving. Then we will be able to say:

2Ti 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Jhn 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

2Cr 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Act 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

It is time for the people of God to stand up and speak the truth with confidence, and proclaim His word without fear, of course with love. If the sleeping dead dry bones are to awaken it will be because it is shaken out of it's slumber by the truth. Find out who He is in you and allow Him to proclain His word through you with confidence. Forsake the uncertain sound. Know what you believe and stand on it no matter what it costs you. Amen?
