TIRED OF PLAYING...

A
Am_Lovin_HIM Oct 28, 2004

This is my 2nd post. I have been visiting this sight for quite awhile and have decided to "take a chance" and finally log in. I have been blessed by so many of the comments I have been reading, challenged by others and driven to ponder others. I have a question I would like to pose to the members... How many of you are finding yourselves saying, I AM TIRED OF PLAYING CHURCH! YOU FIND YOURSELVES HUNGERING AND THIRSTING FOR MORE "MANNA" and you find that this empty world your heart denies?

Dorothy, yes, you are definitely in the right place. All of us on here are probably on here because we were tired of nominal christianity. Fed up with Christian City. :-) Many blessings, Chanin

I believe Chanin is right. You asked: How many? I say: Many. I hope that you will find here what your heart is longing for. This website is really something extra. :-)

Am_Lovin_HIM wrote;"I AM TIRED OF PLAYING CHURCH"!i don't want to seem self righteous, cause Lord knows i've got my spots and wrinkles ... But what i'm tired of most is so many churches playing church, and to be more precise so many preachers/pastors playing church ... i want Joel chapters 1 & 2!i'm sick of the pomp, ritual, circumstance, form, fashion, denominational pre-immenience, health and wealth, the building fund, worship service structure, and the big lie in our church bulletins that say, "This is the order of service, but it's prone to change at the Holy Spirit's direction" ... AND IT NEVER DOES! ... What the wicked devil, and gullible man, has wrought upon the Church of Christ makes me gag.i pray and long for REVIVAL ... i want to experience with other saints, all on one accord, the miraculous leadership of service by the Lord Creator Spirit Himself ... i long for the sound of His rushing mighty wind, and gifts of cloven tongues of fire ... i'm starved for services not preoccupied with time, where as in Revivals of old folk were so wrapped up in that upper room experience that they didn't want to leave ... i long to see the Holy Ghost at work thru and in us, where 120 turns into 3,000+ ... i long to experience en masse the power of the Holy Ghost reducing our selfish "selves" to "tool" of God, and then watch His further escalated building toward the coming of the Kingdom of God on earth, thru us! ... i want to experience the process of Christ ruptured Church, being mitaculously transformed into Christ's rapture Church! ... i long for me/us to be made into His Bride, without spot or wrinkle ... And Bless God i'm believing that i'm not gonna have to wait to much longer! ... Amen

Hello, and I share your pain! I read about the miracles. I read my Savior says he that believes on me the works that I do he shall do and greater works than these for I go to my Father. But I haven't seen it. And I am so hungry!!!!! His word is true. So I am searching myself, and asking him to show me what I need to change to enter his fullness! It's so encouraging to learn I'm not the only one feeling this way! Many posts on this site reflect what is in my heart! Praise God! He's getting the Bride ready to meet him! Stirring her to awake and shake herself and prepare to meet the Bridegroom!Sincerely,Kathleen

I'm tired of the mundane...the "usual".I'm in! Since I've realized how poor in spirit I am, I am trusting God to do what he said he would do. Mark, your words made me think of a song by Kelanie Gloeckler:I did not come to settle for the average or mundane. For the Spirit of Jesus Christ is flowin in my veins.I did not come to bow down and give in to fear of man.I'll prophecy, sing a new song, and dance your danceI'm gonna dance your dance. And there's no going back to where I've been'Cause you're in me and I am free from sin.I'm pressing on!!!!!!!!!!

"Hello, and I share your pain! I read about the miracles. I read my Savior says he that believes on me the works that I do he shall do and greater works than these for I go to my Father. But I haven't seen it."Miracles are happening. I've seen it ,It happened to me. a Brother named David hogan prayed for me and I was healed. I quite looking for the Lord and Spirit in others and found him looking for me. He wanted me to do some thing about him. not him always doing something for me. WOW it's God who stays the same... it's we who have to change. It's no trick or treat. when we read his word and believe, and do it out loud for "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." being in his will put's us in a very strong place. for then he says "ASK anything in my name and you SHALL receive" I'm not here too play and God isn't either.

Praise God for His tender mercies which endure for ever. How my heart rejoices to hear others with the same hunger for HIM! If I know one thing in this world it is NOT about me (us) BUT it is ALL ABOUT HIM. He wants us to glorify Him in all we are. We are to walk as Jesus walked. Bless you as you hunger and thirst after His righteousness. We must believe He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM. I praise God for the healing in your life and thank God for your hunger for Him.

Hello Mark, I am glad you stopped by. Yes, our God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM. Now more than ever we must purpose in our hearts that nothing and no one will separate us from the love that is in Christ Jesus the Lord!! We are his body, here to do the Father's will and be a LIGHT SHINING IN THE DARKNESS...

This thread reminds me of something I heard Zac Poonen say in one of his sermons. He said that there was a head of state in India who told him that the Christians in India proclaimed a very extraordinary message, but they lived very ordinary lives.I don't want to live an ordinary life, just blending in with the world; I want to to be a broken vessel so that Jesus can can shine, and there's nothing ordinary about Jesus! In Christ,Ron

I am blessed by this thread. When i first read the post, I thought, well, we all know that we are tired of the "game" of religion. So what's new? But as people have responded, it is nice to see it in a fresh way, through other's perspectives once again. It renews that old hunger and creates a beautiful unity among believers.Thank you all for your comments :-) In Him, Chanin

I to am tired of the games. I'm tired of the Readers Digest sermons and the powerless, aimless prayers. My heart cries out for the day when we remove our shoes as we enter our santuaries because we realize that we are on Holy Ground. I look for the day when the lame enter our churches in wheelchairs and crutches, then leave leaping and dancing. I EXPECT to see the day when the filthy lost enter in only to leave as members of the cleansed redeemed. PLEASE FATHER, SEND YOUR GLORY!!!Dave

He said that there was a head of state in India who told him that the Christians in India proclaimed a very extraordinary message, but they lived very ordinary lives. To share from my experience with God, He is blessing me so much, but not in this world's view of blessing. I am privileged to be doing great feats for God, but most in anonyminity and secret, what Jesus tells us to do. According to this world on paperwork, I am only a poor single mom without a job or home or car. The world can have the view, as the bible says, that we are fools, when in fact we know the reason we seem fools, it is for Christ and for eternal things. Prosperity and great careers and big bank accounts and fame (the world's idea of success) is nothing to God, and the poor people who love God can be seen as wimpy good-for-nothings, when in fact those are who God is using the most.
