I just want to share what we do on Halloween.Turn your porch light ON! being a light in the darkness.Yes!Instead of turning our lights off and hiding in the basement :-( or going out somewhere so we won't have to open the door, we give treats. we give Jesus with our treats!I prayed about it last year and the Lord gave me an idea. I asked Him what He wanted these kids to know. "That I love them". So we have bought full size candy bars (yes! the kids love that!) and we print messages on mailing labels and stick them on the front of the candy bars. Last year they said "I love you- Love, Jesus".This year we are putting something else, haven't quite narrowed it down yet. We also play contemporary christian music pretty loud while my kids pass out the candy to the other kids.The only drawback at all is that if some kids come in really gross costumes, I have to make my youngest one go in the other room. Some of those costumes are really disgusting :-o . But these kids need to know that Jesus cares about them anyway.The day of Oct. 31 is still a day that God made. It belongs to Him.
