The guy in the first one ruined his witness by making light of the situation and making fun of Joel Osteen. He is no better than they are. Now, in the second video he is just stumbling all over himself trying not to say that he believes God will send someone to hell. And you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.
He has such a voice in this nation and especially in Houston (I live on the southeast side). If he would just stand up and proclaim the truth in love so many would hear the gospel who may have never heard it before.
The first time I heard Frank Schaeffer was on NPR; Fresh Air. It was a great interview, and I really liked the guy...he was very honest. But this interview is disappointing. I don't really care what his politics are, but to say that the election of Barack Obama was a miracle from God is slightly ignorant and naive. Which is surprising because the guy is as smart as a whip.
What is your motivation for posting this Neil?
Franky still has not grown up.
Wonder that his dad is not rolling over in his grave.
He reminds me of the OT kings who were men of God but who had sons that did the opposite of what they stood for.
Having said all this I am not discounting that Franky may not be speaking the truth at some points, but then he goes off to the opposite extreme .... politics are not to be discussed here so I will quit.
The sad fact of the matter is that I have seen on other TV interviews where Franky has seperated himself from evangelicalism, and has railed agaisnt his father's faith.
In other words, Franky has denied the faith. This is why you folks are confused by his words and actions as of late.
