In light of 9-11, I would like to share with you a video I made earlier this year. Special props to our very own Michael Compton, who generously contributed his own musical abilities :-)
Don't know what to say just yet. I'll have to think and pray on it. Being in my early 30's it was in this last decade that I went from childhood to manhood. My perception of the world and my reality was born out of this time. I watched the planes hit the towers from Camp Pendleton. I went on a naval cruise December 1 of that year in support of the new war on terror. I was eating an MRE on the hood of a humvee in the Kuwaiti desert when the war with Iran was first begun. Within hours I was in Iraq myself. I live on the Houston and watched Katrina with intense interest and then Ike sat on my house two years later. I had just moved into a new house when the market tanked leaving me quite a bit in the hole.
It was in that decade God called me to minister to His church. He gave me a beautiful wife, who is also very pretty, and two beautiful kids. Was it all by chance? Those of us formed in this time have been called to this time. Dare we to ignore His warnings? Vast numbers of people removed from the earth in moments. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and Jesus came so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Peter saw 3,000 saved at one time. There were 2,996 killed on 9-11. Add the other major disasters and satan is doing more killing than we are leading to Christ.
Thought provoking to say the least.
I hope you are able to get something out of it. David Wilkerson's message "The towers have fallen, but we've missed the message" greatly impacted my understanding of these times over the last decade.
As I watched the planes hitting
the towers and the buildings falling;
my thought was "O MY GOD, there is
such evil in this world." And GOD
replied; And how do we overcome evil??
Overcome evil with good. Watch and see!
Only [GOD] can bring forth good and
hope from this tragedy !!
Amen. And He shall.
