Election Day - November 2nd

Y
Yodi Nov 1, 2004

Well, as many of you know, American or non-American, tomorrow's our BIG election day.I feel compelled, and have definitely been praying, that God would put His peace, joy, and hope in each Christian's heart, no matter what the outcome of tomorrow's elections. Quite honestly, whether Bush stays in office, or Kerry ends up replacing him, this world is still dark, and getting darker. More than anything, I think our focus needs to be on seeking God on how He can make us ever brighter and purer in such a dark and corrupt world."My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand."

Our focus needs to be on God and our desire needs to be to do His will. God is in control of this nomatter what and yes there might be a right way for Christians to vote, I hope and pray God makes that clear for all believers in Him. The Church needs to be the light in America, the salt (an agent of perservation). Thanks for these good thoughts Yolanda its something to put our minds on during the upcoming election tommorow.

We all sense in our spirits that there is something critical about this election, although we can't articulate it.As my pastor said, we don't know whether whoever wins will be a David or a Pharoah but we do know that His purpose will prevail. Let's just pray not my will but His be done.

Yes, let's focus on Jesus"We all sense in our spirits that there is something critical about this election, although we can't articulate it.As my pastor said, we don't know whether whoever wins will be a David or a Pharoah but we do know that His purpose will prevail. Let's just pray not my will but His be done."God is calling His people to pray as never before. James 4:6-10 states:...God resisteth the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourselves thereforeto God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. DRAW NEAR TO GOD, and He willdraw near to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye doubleminded. As servants of Christ we need to humble ourselves as the scriptures say. We need to fast and pray like we've not prayed before.(1 Sam 7:5-6, Joel 2, Isaiah 58:1-14) God's hand is upon this nation and whoever is elected will determine the swiftness of that judgement upon us.We as a nation can not continue in the path chosen. One of these elected presidents will either hasten or stay the hand of God. We as believers have a responsibility to pray this through.. Morning, noon and night, DAILY! Scripture is plain what will be happening in the days to come. Reading Revelation 1 - 4 is plain as in the greetings of the seven churches. We are in the midst of the Laodicean church, Rev 3:17: Because thou sayst, I am rich, and increased with goods (is not the US the richest nation and do we not have a spirit of commercialism?), and have no need of nothing; and knowest not thous are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind (spirit of darkness have deluded the masses) and naked (without the robes of righteousness). This election is of utmost importance and we as christians have some say... we can pray for our Father's will, we can spend these next days/weeks praying that the hand of the enemy be stayed back. We all have read in the scriptures how God destroyed Sodom and Gomorroh, has this nation not made a mockery of Gods sovereign laws by legalizing gay marriages? Please do not get me wrong, I love the people but the sin needs to be called by its name, sodomy! Again, I reference the scriptures, as in the days of Noah (Genesis 6:1-13) is not the wickedness of this land great and are not every imagination of the thoughts of the hearts of man only evil continually? Is not God's heart grieved? Does not judgement BEGIN with the house of God? In reference to Noah, does not the scripture again say, as in the days of noah, they were marrying and given in marriage. If judgement begins with the house of God, then I personally as a believer wish to humble myself under His hand and follow His commandments. Our prayers are upon the golden altar (Rev 8:3) Fellow brothers and sisters, let us bow our head and humble ourselves and PRAY for this NATION, PRAY for ourselves, PRAY for our PRESIDENT and bind the hand of the strongman. Let us not be like the foolish virgins and not be ready.Humbly submitted to His service, once again I Am_Lovin_HIM

The responses to this thread have really given me hope and peace. Unpartisan and heart-felt...I feel the same way brother what a blessing the saints are at SI and how they see beyond all the hype and politics to God's purposes in a nation.
