I have been in deep consideration of the cross but more importantly the Man on it, In His excellency He bleed and died as a slain lamb for our sins.
I have consider the night before, in agonizing prayer he sweat blood, the very same blood that would be spilt for his enemies. There are many people that focus so much on the physical aspects of the cross how terrible it was for Him. However there are accurate records of Followers of Christ dying in the same manner and rejoicing, The physical was terrible indeed Yet to simply focus on the physical doesn't even begin to touch what Christ felt Spiritually.
In agony He took my sins and your sins on Himself and felt the Full Justice of God upon Him for even our smallest sins. And in His dying moments He cries from the Cross Father Forgive them. If you are heavy with sin, if you are caught in the chains of bondage, friend put your trust in Christ who while you were His enemy cried forgiveness on your behalf. If you have doubt, as we are prone to do, stand firm on this cry of Christ that HE desires to forgive you.
So many believe we must jump through religious hoops to get to Christ but on the Cross the veil was torn and He now only says Come Unto Me, all ye who are heavy laden.
Now some may say now wait what about repentance? Brother or Sister don't you understand that to turn to God is to turn away from sin? We have many people in bondage to sin and we openly judge "well they need to get right with God and repent" but we must remember we are all on the same Path to Christ just some of us are a little further off than others, As we step closer to Christ we will step farther away from sin. It may not look pretty, or the way we think it ought to be done, BUT if Christ begins a Good work HE is faithful to Complete that Good work.
If you are dealing with someone new in Christ and they are in bondage to sin please understand that Grace Abounds and Christ Loves Mercy, If they are an alcoholic don't throw your hands up in exhaustion and discouragement but hold onto the Promise that Christ is faithtul and He is doing His work, you simply need to do two things, Pray and be a good encouraging example of Christ's grace and Love to them.
If you are new in Christ please understand that God is much more concerned with what is happening on the inside than He is on the outside. You can fool me, a pastor, family etc into thinking you are Godly but You can't fool the very Source of Godliness, Simply be Honesty with God.
Let us not forget what happened on Calvary, the Agony of the cross goes so much deeper than the physical but goes beyond to the Spiritual. Consider these things and come to Christ and trust Him when He says Forgive them and obey when He says follow me.
