sermonindex Nov 10, 2010

3. Many treat “church” like any other social club or sports event that they might attend. (Acts 2:46; Heb 10:25; Acts 1:14)

I encourage discussion about each of these thesis points as they are posted. We are posting 1 per day for the next 95 days as per the challenge one brother made and I considered a tremendous idea:

A proposition to everyone that reads this post! Lets stimulate a modern-day e-tsunami of reform! - http://bit.ly/drvHsJ

hi, those that attend church as an organization are usually just spectators in a dog and pony show. the church is not an organization it is an organism and we are the church. a church that grows through the works of the flesh are usually cancers.but those that are alive and walk in the spirit are increased by God.churches that come together in unity are blessed of God and should have fellowship with the other church groups in the area because we are all one body.we are the sheep of His pasture and healthy sheep beget lambs ...shepherds do not produce lambs.Jesus and His love for us must be brought into our communities so that we grow and stay healthy.Jesus first, missions second, community third, and we are last.jimp

That is because there are those who attend that have no real relationship with Christ. They are lost and deceived into believing that because they "play" church on Sunday that they are saved when sadly they are not...

This is the reason one finds sin common, accepted, tolarated within its ranks.

But Jesus says I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Since this is the case it behooves us to be able to identify this brotherhood. More serious still is to be able to discern the devil's tactics he uses to destroy this brotherhood.

I think this is so true. Social clubs, or sports events are types of entertainment that 'numb' us to reality. The 'noise' of the world clouds our thoughts and spirit and keeps us from being quiet before the Lord so we can truly examine our hearts and relationship before the Lord. If we can look busy, and look authentic when we must be, right? maybe not.

My greatest times of fellowship with other believers is surrounded around prayer, studying/reading God's word, worship, and doing ministry together...
