Supporting online ministries

Saints,

I was recently viewing the blueletterbible.org and saw their page for supporting their ministry. I was amazed at the need for 1.5 million per year to run their website. They do have abit more traffic then sermonindex.net but that was shocking to me: http://www.blueletterbible.org/about/ and also the large staff of people: http://www.blueletterbible.org/gifs/about/about030.jpg

I am not saying it is bad to support them, that would actually be good! But it amazed me again how little God has allowed sermonindex.net to run for monthly. At most it has costed $15,000 for me to live full-time all my living expenses and the costs for the sermonindex.net website.

I suspect the framework to run the two different websites is quite different. I am amazed at how long it has been free to use BLB. It is a phenomenal resource which has given many people tools they need for serious scriptural study w/o having to attend a seminary. It is certainly worth supporting. When I read that they were now asking for support I could not believe how I had taken such a valuable resource for granted for so long.

Praise the LORD as well that this website runs for so little. I often find myself impressed on SI how it seems that you have managed to put up a staggering amount of resources without having to deal with how so many ministries tend to be stingy with their materials.

For all the ministries out there that have given sermons to this website without an expectation of recompense, your reward is where you know it is...

Amen. Absolutely dear brother, may those who have preached the gospel freely and have desired it to go forth across the earth know their reward is in heaven. How glorious to know how millions of sermons from this site are freely going out across every country of the world!
