Could You be Called a Christian?

Christians?

Could I be called a Christian if everybody knew,

My secret thoughts and feelings and everything I do?

Oh, could they see the likeness of Christ in me each day?

Oh, could they hear Him speaking in every word I say?

Could I be called a Christian if everyone could know,

That I am found in places where Jesus would not go?

Oh, could they hear his echo in every song I sing?

In eating, drinking, dressing, could they see Christ in me?

Could I be called a Christian, if judged by what I read?

By all my recreations, and every thought and deed?

Could I be counted Christ-like as I now work and pray?

Unselfish, kind, forgiving, to others every day?

Good Stuff!

I think i will print this and put it on my teenage daughters dresser in the morning !

Oh! pick me! I want to give a few:

I could be called a good American Christian if:

"I only go to places approved by my pastor"

"I only talked to Saved people and not those ugly sinners"

"I gave money to please people"

"I want to look good before all men but keep my heart wicked before God"

"I try and try but fail and then beat others up when they are not as holy as I"

"if they could hear how holy I can sing and how high I can jump"

"if they could only know how well I plan my Righteous rags"

"I never went to places sinners are to witness"

"they see how self Righteous I am by telling others how unselfish and forgiving I am"

"they could see my holy dress (thank God I'm not like those Christians"

By the way, I found that in an old paper a church used to publish. It was called "Provoking Thoughts" I know the Pastor (Richard Owen) (not "Roberts") and thought that would be a blessing.
