they took out this verse in the new NIV :( ? what kinda dumb stuff is this?
it just says [37] and skips to verse 38...i wonder what other stuff they did.
NIV 2011 fails :(...sadly, i was kinda excited about it.
There are many reasons why verses are omitted and jointed with others. The "verse numbers" were not in the original greek it was just columns of text. The verses were added in AD 1500 aprox.
They have made many good corrects to be more literal with word usuage to the greek that I have seen so far.

After reviewing some comparisons, I find that the male gender is slowly being removed. Brothers, men, are being replaced with, "they", "them", "believers". It's like they are making this bible more socially acceptable amongst all classes of society. If the Greek said "men", why change it?
Act 8:37 -
If thou believest, etc.? This verse is omitted in the Revision. It is not found in the oldest extant manuscripts, but was certainly in manuscripts older than any now extant.
It is referred to by Irenæus in the second century, and by Augustine in the fourth. Whether written by Luke or not, it shows that the custom of the early church was to require such a confession of faith.
