Yes.

Then you just listen.

Someone said you learn more by listening then talking.

This was not all that profound.

What do you have to say?

I believe this is why the Good Lord gave us two ears but only one mouth :)

2 I was mute with silence,
I held my peace even from good;
And my sorrow was stirred up.
3 My heart was hot within me;
While I was musing, the fire burned...
9 I was mute, I did not open my mouth,
Because it was You who did it.

~ Ps. 39

I believe He dries up the rivers of our words from time to time, a spiritual Zechariah season as it were. It is good to be still before Him, even if that means our days our filled with less talk.

Blessings brother,

do you ever have nothing to say?
Frequently, and for hours on end.

Quite often actually, and in those times I usually say nothing. :-)

The greatest times that I ever have are when I just sit quietly in the presence of the King knowing that He knows me inside and out...

...including all of my needs, wants, desires, hurts, failures, and that unquenchable desire to just know Him and see His face.

I remember hearing Leonard Ravenhill saying something about praying and worshiping in English until you have run out of word...then in Spanish (or whatever earthly languages that we know...and then in tongues just the same. Eventually, you run out of words to express or describe the goodness of God.

At that time, you just bask in that indescribable peace that passes all understanding.

Thanks for the reminder, Neil!

:-)

much.

but God the Holy Ghost has stilled my keyboard, stilled my tongue, and it happened right after i listened to dear Old Len Ravenhill speak about the "Excellency of Knowing God".

i thank and bless my dear brother Greg for exposing me to that precious Word from a late prophet, Len.

there was such an essential truth in that 2 hour talk recorded many years ago, it rocked me to the core of my being.

as a child, when i read of King David being a "man after God's own heart", even as a wee lad, i knew the "yes and amen" in that, now that amen has to go deeper in my spirit, such a walk, makes human words unbearable, ill-advised, for the Fear/Reverence of God is the begininng of wisdom.

i have much to say, at His Command and His Timing.

but i can say this, i love you, neil

Praise God the Holy Ghost for impelling you to testify this Bit of Scripture:

2 I was mute with silence,
I held my peace even from good;
And my sorrow was stirred up.
3 My heart was hot within me;
While I was musing, the fire burned...
9 I was mute, I did not open my mouth,
Because it was You who did it.

~ Ps. 39

truly a blessing to me, thank you so much my sister, neil

A young lady once said to John Wesley, “I think I know what my talent is.”

Wesley replied, “Tell me.”

She said, “I think it is to speak my mind.”

To which Wesley responded, “I do not think God would mind if you bury that talent.”

As two men sat and talked,the one said to the other,

"You know, ya don't say much...but when you do say somethin', ya don't say much".

“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.”

Isaiah 30:15
For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in QUIETNESS and in CONFIDENCE shall be your strength: and ye would not.

I pray regularly that nothing should come out of my mouth that the Lord does not approve of. It's a learning process but I find myself a lot more often with nothing to say these days...

“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.”
Then were all fools, for we have much to say and very little to tell.

I've been that way for the past year now it seems like. Just listening, no talk, just listening. I wonder if this is what Paul went through when he was in the desert for 13 years?!?
