Set me Ablaze

I said to the Lord, "Father, set me ablaze that people would ask regarding my appearance. For when they saw the face of Moses they knew he had spoken to God. Fire me up that they might ask and I will answer them."

He replied: "Answer them and I will set you ablaze. Is this not what was said through you today?"

I answered with a foolish laugh. "Yes, my Lord".

HE makes HIS ministers a flame
of fire. Am I ignitable?? GOD
deliver me from the dead asbestos
of "other things." Saturate me
with the oil of the Spirit; so
I may be aflame.
But flame is transient; often
short-lived. Canst thou bear
this, my soul--short life??
In me there dwells the Spirit
of the great short-lived. Keep
me ablaze, LORD; with the passion
that drove You to the cross !!

This morning there was a revival song on my heart that I was singing. It is an old song written by William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army that ws in 1894.
