Saints,
How many use the "flat" and how many the "threaded" by default it is in flat mode. Also does anyone setup the posts to view oldest first or newest first?
I am considering taking out the "threaded" option.

I am considering taking out the "threaded" option.
I just use the "flat". Sometimes I switch between "newest first" and "oldest first" options.
I've used flat forever. In fact, I only recently discover the threaded option. I also do newest first.
Hi Greg,
I think I use threaded. I don't know how to use flat, from my discoveries of it in the archives.
I only use Oldest first. I find it MUCH preferable.
As I speak I do not know what flat and threaded are. I do like the option of "Oldest first", especially on long threads with multiple posts, so I can read along the river of thought...or see why a person is thinking on a particular vein.
Greg,
I have always used the flat option.
I also prefer the oldest first choice.
Thanks,
Brian
I am hoping to find out how many people really use the "threaded" view. The flat view is a standard forum look.
Flat - Oldest first
God bless you for all you do, Greg!!
Lisa
I use:
Flat - Oldest first
This works best for me. I get lost in the threaded view.
Thanks and blessings,
Wayne
Good Gravy! How on earth do you use the Threaded!?! lol I switched out of curiousity and was just confused as all get out! :) I now know I prefer Flat over threaded and I use Newest First, generally going to original post then working my way back skipping around seeing what others thoughts are on the larger threads.
So, this is the 'flat' view?
I have only used the threaded view on a couple of occasions to see who a particular person was replying to - but I would not miss it as an option if it were gone.
Also, I switch between oldest first and newest first without any problem, so either is fine with me.
I was unaware of the threaded mode; flat for me.
I don't know the diffrence between flat and threaded views?
I do set the post to view newest first.

When in a thread, click the drop down next to the printer icon (under the "post new thread" button on right side of screen). The primary position is flat, the other option is threaded. Click "threaded" and then click go. Scroll down a little when the page reloads and you'll see the difference.
Flat - Oldest First.

LOL!
A person learns something new every day! Here I was wondering what on earth Greg was talking about..SIGH! I was using the threaded view all this while not realizing another option was available....Good example of a person seeing but not comprehending...
Yes, I like oldest first so I know what is being discussed and where people are going with the topic.
Have a Blessed day, y'all!

Never used the threaded until now; never knew it existed. COOL!....But I guess I've survived here without it this long......I'm a dinosaur anyway!
This seems to me to be a confirmation that most if not all use the "flat" view not the threaded view.
So the option for threaded might be taken away in the upcoming weeks. This will also help for search engine purposes so people when they come to the site aren't trapped in the threaded view but everyone will just see the flat view including the search engines.
Greg,
would you please explain what falt-threaded means for those who are behind on these sorts of things.
mguldner,
did you have a good Thanksgiving. I haven't heard that expression for a while.
