Box 862 Powhatan, VA 23139On Friday, November 5, Officer Howard Noyes of the Richmond Police Department arrested Fred Neal, a Christian, as he preached truth on the public sidewalk at Richmond Medical Center for Women. Fred's charge was "disorderly conduct". This is a favorite "catch-all" charge used when no law has been violated. This is another instance in a long history of harrassment by this officer who is on the payroll of RMCW. For several years this police officer has been moonlighting at the clinic.In recent days Officer Howard Noyes has been threatening Christians on a regular basis with arrest if they speak out to those entering the abortion clinic. Three weeks ago Officer Noyes issued a citation to Mark Goodell as he spoke to someone entering the establishment. The charge was also "disorderly conduct".This criminal charge is described as performing "an act of disorderly conduct with the intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance, or alarm, or to recklessly create a risk thereof."The harrassment often follows the following mode. Noyes will come out to the Christians on the street and say that they have been warned about some often undiscribed violation of some undescribed ordinance. Wielding a badge and a gun, he is out of control and dangerous. When will the Police department rein in this enemy of the first amendment and the Gospel?" asked Dennis Green.Green's first dealings with Officer Noyes stem back several years ago when he (Green) arrived at Richmond Medical Center for Women with two of his small chidren to minister to those entering. Officer Noyes called for backup and had Greens truck searched for explosives. The responding officer doing the search related that he knew that there were no explosives hidden in the truck but he had to finish the job of searching because the report had been made by Noyes. Although explosives were not found, several dubious items were discovered including two infant carseats and gospel literature.Life and Liberty Ministries asks that letters be sent to the Chief of Police requesting immediate intervention. You miss the point. If my daughters were being raped in a comunist nation by its officials, I wouldn't ask people to abstain from prayers of protection and just sing songs of joy. It is one thing to count it all joy when you are counted worthy to suffer for His name and it is another thing altogether to rejoice in the fact that your brothers and sisters are being attacked. Paul appealed to Caesar for justice. We are to seek justice. The Almighty demands justice. To rejoice when persecution comes your way, is in no way contradictory to praying for protection, justice and fairness in our society. Those who minister on a daily basis on the street will agree wholeheartedly I'm sure.

Hi all,Yup, persecution coming in many forms. Why not consider a fast and pray deeply? Bring yourselves into a place of intimacy with God and ask for an anointing. In such instances where one is witnessing at an entrance, you will witness by being present and no more. The Holy Spirit will do the rest. He is the One who convicts people in their hearts. Stop doing His works.As regards justice. The problem is seldom the problem. Ask Him to show you the cause. Pray for this officer. Humble yourself in this respect because it is His authority under which this man operates whether wrongly or rightly so. Seek Him on devine stratergy and ask Him for a revelation of the responsibility that you are given in this situation. The responsibility of cause or contribution to this current situation. And the responsibility of the future from here on in. In other words, ask to align yourself with His will.It is indeed a sticky situation. Law enforcement is a tough business and my heart goes out to my brothers and sisters in arms. You cannot realise the hurt and tragedy they experience each and every day. No one rarely knows of the experiences except those who have carried the shield. Love this man, his family and his colleagues. But know this, he has a thick skin. It is from all the scars! All the people he has held in his arms and the countless times he has reached to Him and seems to have gotten no response. Just keep loving Him and the officer.Maybe God wants to save this man through you guys. A gift opens the door to many a mans heart. Show them hospitality and kindness. Befriend him and trust Him. There is another stream here that I believe God wants for you and these people. Is this a similar occurance as on the road with Paul?Keep your chin up and ask Him what justice He wants. It's about His ways, not ours. Our concept of justice is often shaped by just that - ours. Remember pray, fast and bless. I most certainly will pray for those being persecuted as well as those persecuting but I don't believe we should pray that the persecution would stop. It isn't going to stop. Jesus said, if they persecute me, they most certainly will persecute you. I don't mean to seem that I don't care about the need. I care very much about the cost to those being persecuted. I will pray for God's will to be executed on the situation. I do not know any specifics, and, from personal experience, Christians can be very hateful and mean, especially when protesting or holding up signs on street corners. But if this person is indeed pure in action and heart, and the police guy is persecuting him, certainly let him be freed from his persecution. Certainly this has to be an exciting time for him-- being persecuted for one's faith is not something most Christians get to endure, and it certainly will bring him closer to God, if he lets it.

VICTORY FOR PERSECUTED PRO-LIFERSThis morning the case against the two sidewalk counselors was dropped. The Commonwealth Attorney's office said that they would not prosecute them since there was no evidence that they had violated any law.
