"Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet and thy speech is comely..." Song of Songs 4:3
When Tamar gave birth to twins the midwife took the first hand she saw and tied a scarlet thread around it but the other baby was born first and the baby with the scarlet thread tied around its hand was born second. Like this Jesus Christ is the firstborn from the dead and his brothers that are born after him are enrolled in heaven by his scarlet blood.(Genesis 38:28-30)
Water mixed with the ashes of the red heifer was provided for a purification from sin. The red heifer was burnt with cedar, hyssop and scarlet and the ashes were placed in a jar outside the camp as a provision for those who were defiled. Like this, Jesus hung on a wooden cross outside the camp shedding his pure scarlet blood So that those who were defiled by sin could enter into the camp washed clean by His blood. (Numbers 19)
Rahab the harlot hung a scarlet thread on her window to let the men of war know that her and her family were not to be slaughtered with the rest of the city. This city had provoked God with it's sins and God was sending his people to put them all to death. Rahab and her family were the only ones to escape. Like this, Jesus bore the wrath of God on the cross so that all who are covered by his precious scarlet blood will escape God's wrath when it is poured out in the judgment of this wicked world. (Joshua 2)
The Bride's lips, like scarlet thread, testify of the Bridegroom's blood shed on the cross, praising Him who is worthy, the spotless lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world.
"You are indeed a bridegroom of blood to me." (Exodus 4:25)
