Behold your present standing, believer in Christ! Turn your eye away from all your failures in obedience; the flaws and imperfections that mark your sincere endeavors to serve Christ and to glorify God, and see where your true acceptance is: even in the Beloved of the Father, “The Lord our righteousness.”

Turn your eye away from all your failures in obedience

I read this in a portion of another writing by Winslow. I love how it says 'obedience.'

It's very strong. This is a command, not an option. In obedience to Christ turn away from your failures, and accept HIS acceptance! How great is His love to that He commands us to turn away from our failures, rather, than gnawing and grueling over them like the Devil would do.

Philippians 3:12-14
12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Unless I am reading this wrong, and it's our failures of obedience that Winslow is speaking of here. Either way, It's still a wonderful piece.

There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus! When we walk in His righteousness, His forgiveness without condemnation I believe we put a smile on His face. He didn't die in vain. Glory to God and a humble and thankful heart for this heart knowledge as we move forward in our walk with You Lord. God says mercy but man says judgment. Let us have this for ourselves and for others as well. Amen and Amen!
