Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old.

Hi sister, what I love about the brothers and sisters on this call is that they are real. What you hear is what you get :) .............brother Frank

I love this hymn. It is taken from Psalm 18.
I believe that praise is the first step of revival. It is the power that moves God to act.
He loves to hear the praise of His people.

1.\tO worship the King, all glorious above,
\tO gratefully sing God's power and God's love;
\tour Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
\tpavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

2.\tO tell of God's might, O sing of God's grace,
\twhose robe is the light, whose canopy space,
\twhose chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
\tand dark is God's path on the wings of the storm.

3.\tThe earth with its store of wonders untold,
\tAlmighty, thy power hath founded of old;
\thath stablished it fast by a changeless decree,
\tand round it hath cast, like a mantle, the sea.

4.\tThy bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
\tIt breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
\tit streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
\tand sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

5.\tFrail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
\tin thee do we trust, nor find thee to fail;
\tthy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
\tour Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.

6In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

7Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

8There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

10And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

11He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

The Psalmist says that God did all this because his cry came into His ears. Can it be true that the cry of one man that God loves causes Him to do all this? And who is the man that God loves? what is he like?

"Can it be true that the cry of one man that God loves causes Him to do all this? And who is the man that God loves? what is he like?"

Apparantly he is like me brother, for the Lord has delivered me from the depths of darkness, when I was saved and also more than once in the last 20 years of my Christianity.

If you are a parent out there and have heard the desperate cries of your child, you will know what this does to you. Precious Father in heaven I thank you that you incline your ear to your children and , as you promised, you would never leave us nor forsake us.

"Psa 142:7 Bring my soul out of prison that I may praise Your name;"

Psa 57:2 I will cry to God most high, to God who does all things for me.
Psa 57:3 He shall send from Heaven, and save me from the scorn of him who would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.
Psa 57:4 My soul is among lions; I lie among those on fire, the sons of men whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
Psa 57:5 Be praised above the heavens, O God; let Your glory be above all the earth.
Psa 57:6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down; they have dug a pit before me, they have fallen into it. Selah.
Psa 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise.
Psa 57:8 Wake up, my soul! Wake up, harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn.
Psa 57:9 I will praise You, O Jehovah, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations.
Psa 57:10 For Your mercy is great to the heavens, and Your truth to the clouds.
Psa 57:11 Be exalted above the heavens, O God; let Your glory be above all the earth.
