the simplicity of God.

I Reliaze now that the Simplicity of God subject is something y'all fight. God is Infinite. We aren't. Simple ain't it :-D ? God Reliazes we are simple in comparison and therefore makes it simple to understand his word an will. I am 17 and i can already explain this concept to you. i know that we all have diferent veiws but i think the reason why is that Man(as a race) continueally try and make things harder to understand so they feel more intelligent because they understand the hard stuff. God lays it all out in his word, and the Bible explains it all. but what i guess it comes to is 'you beleive what you want and as long as it says Christ is the only way to God, and your church can't save you, only acceptance and belief in Christ will save you, i won't argue.'

I haven't seen any *fighting* on this subject. I have seen some very insightfull posts to a very deep subject about a God that we all love very much. I do have one suggestion for you though Vampire: Enjoy the world while you still know everything ;-) Much loveIn Christ,Jeremy Hulsey

This is very true; however, you must understand where this response came from. This thread is actually from a link to another discussion that we were having on Predestination/Freewill. From which there are two different schools of thought that hold opposing viewpoints. In this thread here he accused us of fighting and trying to make something simple complex simply to make ourselves look intelligent. That is simply not the case. We had been holding a very fruitfull discussion in which we were all giving our viewpoints.Yes God is very simple, but He's not simplistic. There are aspects of God that are far beyond our comprehension. It was on one of these subjects that is a little above the human mind that we were talking about and that this topic sprouted from.If you read the "my theory on predestination" topic and follow it to this thread you will gain a better understanding to my response which was meant to be lighthearted and not accusatory.In Christ,Jeremy Hulsey

I do appologize fo the possible mis-use of the term fighting, however i did notice some clipped sounding remarks. it might just be me. as to God's Simplicity, why would he not want us to understand and acknlowledge him? i mean, if i made a program that could learn, i would want it to learn about me and know me in every possible way. the only thing someone might hid would be a weakness and God has no weakness. therefore, i beleive that our lack of understanding is due to our own short sightedness and over examining.

There is much room for charity in the Predestination vs. Free will debate. However, God is much much more than that. We are made in his image, yet he is altogether unlike us and above us. Nothing on earth can adequately describe God. The words we use to describe God ultimately fail. When we say he is the king, he is much more. When we say he is all powerful, his power goes even beyond that.If our words could describe God, then our words would be greater than God, but God is greater than our words. If our thoughts could contain and fully conceive of him, then he would not be greater than our mind, but even the greatest of thinkers fail miserably to develop an accurate portrait of the attributes of God, because he is greater than our minds.Yet God has condescended to man to let him have perhaps a glimpse of what he is like. He gives us word pictures to let us know of his love, his power, his justice...etc. He guides us and allows situations in our lives to come to show us that he will care for us.Isaiah said that in the final age, the glories of God will never cease to abound. This is not describing the Lord forever creating better and better things for his saints to do so they won't be bored. It's talking about the Lord himself. The marvelous wonder of eternity won't be the mansion, or the city, or the streets of gold but will be an ever increasing revelation of the nature and character of God to his creation. He is so immense that it will take all of eternity to get to know him. Being in his presence is LIFE itself! I can't wait until that day when we are all standing together and our faith becomes sight! I beleive that through the Holy Spirit we will reach further and further into God's understanding, and when we are completed, resting in heave, we will fully comprehend God. but to try not to here on Earth seems slightly like deciding not to bail out the ship because it is still taking on water.Love in Christ, VBP.S.omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent do quite a good job of describing God's attributes, plus Love, Mercy, and Grace.
