1000's OF BRITS CONVERT to ISLAM

sermonindex Feb 10, 2011

MUSLIM CONQUEST of BRITAIN
-by Paul Williams.

A study by of the Centre for Migration Policy Research at Swansea
University shows that thousands of Britons are converting to Islam
every year – with more women becoming Muslims than men.

The research suggests that the numbers converting to the religion
has doubled by 2010 from the 60,669 converts in 2001. The average
age of the Muslim converts is 27.5...

A detailed study by Swansea University for inter-faith think-tank
Faith Matters, suggests that despite an often negative portrayal of
Islam in the media, more people are adopting the religion each year.

Kevin Brice, the director of the study, says that 56% of converts
to Islam were white British, with 62% being female.

Presently, according to the London Times, the Islamic population
of Great Britain exceeds 2.4 million.

The Daily Mail contends that more than 25% of the British Muslims
visit a mosque at least once a week.

By contrast, Paul Richardson, Assistant Bishop of Newcastle,
maintains that less than 1% of the 18 million Christians who belong
to the Church of England attend Sunday services. “At this rate,” the
Bishop speculates, “it is hard to see the church surviving for more
than 30 years though few of its leaders are prepared to face that possibility.

“If decline continues,” the Bishop adds, “Christian Research has
estimated that church closures will accelerate from their present
rate of 30 a year to 200 a year as dwindling congregations make
the cost of keeping them open too great.”

While 30 Anglican parishes close every year, seventy new mosques
sprout up throughout the United Kingdom.

I fail to understand such kind of things. But all I should do is to hang my head in shame.

The other day, one of colleagues at office said she likes Islam and is beginning to read their book. I did give her a New Testament and a testimony of a muslim girl who turned to Christ.

More and more I see a poor representation/demonstration of Christ being portrayed by me and the church at large. May the Lord revive us.

Well-

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths...

I fail to understand such kind of things

I thought the same when I read this article.

My question is what is there in Islam that people find so attractive?

Is it not odd that while popular Christianity is working to accommodate sin, justifying disobedience, saying obedience is irrelevant, that Islam, who has such stringent rules, appeals to many? Or, perhaps, relativism creates a vacuum in the heart of man for something absolute which Islam offers.

Will Christians ever learn?

My question is what is there in Islam that people find so attractive?

Many people feel angry, disenfranchised and segregated by western society. They see democracy and even Christianity as tools of social engineering that Britain and America have used to extend their empires. This alienation is what Islam preys upon quite successfully. If the economic depression gets worse then so will the social divide and inherent bitterness by these alienated people. The question is not how we can become more seeker friendly, it should be how do we experience the power that backed up the preaching of the gospel during the time of the apostles and during 3rd world missionary work today?

Pagans converting to Islam is merely a change of hats. What should really be disturbing is that someone actually thinks there are 18 million Christians in Great Britain when only 1% assemble with the saints. It's the sin in the "church" that should be most alarming. True children of the kingdom hunger and thirst for righteousness. As David said, cleanse me from my unrighteousness and then I will teach trangressors Your ways..... "Convert the church" seems to be a reasonable matter of first importance.

My question is what is there in Islam that people find so attractive?

I have been seeing these days that many are looking for or are wanting to be/act spiritual. Spiritualism is the "in" thing these days, I guess. But surely it's amazing.

I am not sure whether Islam has got anything to offer to the man who has a vacuum. But, surely these people who turn to other beliefs' have not found Christianity (Christ that is professed by believers) attractive.

Will Christians ever learn?

Good question. And I for myself hope to learn and learn quickly.

hi, i feel that we are the problem. Jesus said that by this you shall know that they are My disciples; that they love on another. we , on this site are egocentric and arrogant and preach all different things that cause strife and discord amongst us. we argue about the dumbest things while the world goes to hell. when we witness, some do so with an attitude of religeous arrogance... we tell people things that Jesus would not tell them, for He would use wisdom and kindness.some even start by telling the person we are talking to what a rotten sinner they are as if we were somehow far superior to them. we lift up sin as the main problem and sometimes never get to the one who forever defeated sin...Jesus.we have so much to offer and even proof of the offer.no condemnation, eternal life, prospering, health and healing, joy unspeakable, but most of all we offer a redeemer that time itself was devided by.Jesus,THE KING OF KINGS ,THE LORD OF LORDS...THE ONE WHO CONQUERED DEATH AND HELL BY HIS RESSUERECTION,a fact of history.jim

Only the Holy Spirit can compel you to prophesy as such.

and i see some of the posts you write IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, my heart leaps, and my soul says "amen".

Would to God, we take such forthtelling to heart, and consider our ways.

(later addition; but then the Words of Jesus in Mark come to me: "For everyone will be salted with fire".)

I think what you are seeing here is the true danger that a secular society creates: it never stays secular.

As pointed out by Timothy Keller, the human heart is an idol factory. It is human nature to create idols and worship them. A secular society may have mammon as its god for a season, but fallen human nature being what it is, longs for something "bigger" than the empty pursuit of materialism. And without filling the human heart with Christ, man will naturally turn to demonic things such as Islam to fill that "God shaped hole" in the human heart.

As hard as it is to accept "narrow is the way" that leads to life and there be few that find it. There will be a multitude of believers in heaven but this number will be a fraction of humanity as the majority will end up in hell. Society is just the way our lord told us it would be. Every thing Yahweh told us will be fulfilled. The narrow path is not popular. Its sad to see Islam gain such a foothold but what about our homes? is every one of siblings, children, work colleagues, and dare i say church members really saved? Do we even care? Is it much easier to ignore all responsibilities we have to each other as a body. I remember the bible saying two will be in the field, one taken the other not, two in a bed , one taken and one remains. I often wondered if the two in the bed both husband and wife if either knew each others salvation was in danger and if they prayed to the lord at all or where they just so comfortable in church activity neither knew there was danger. The things the lord has sovereign-ly declared and ordained for our time will stand and prophesy will be fulfilled not one little jot will be removed. My prayer is for the lord to continue to reveal his counsel to his remnant and for us to be obedient to his commands.

Hey jimp,

Spot on brother! If some of those folks turning to Islam looked at the threads that were simply bash fests of ministries then no wonder they don't want what they see portrayed as Christianity.

We have a far superior answer to Islam that meets all the needs inherent to mankind. Most importantly the removal of sin from a person.

How is it we have the far superior message, far superior backing (the power of the Holy Spirit), and could possibly be losing the battle for souls in this case? You answered a lot of that question jimp.

However, rather than wring our hands let me submit one thought that is extremely encouraging to me.

Perhaps this will bring folks to the forfront that will confront in the power of the Holy Spirit. First use love... reach into hearts that will receive it. Love will disarm a great many peoples rejections.

Secondly, I pray there will also be spiritual confrontations brought to the front for all to see. By that I mean DIRECT SHOW DOWNS AND THROW DOWNS. In essence God forcing folks to see a direct confrontation of the false beliefs and the true faith of Jesus Christ. A few examles might be Moses standing against Jannes and Jambres, Elijah confronting the prophets of Baal at Mt. Carmel, or Paul calling blindness onto Elymas. Many more scriptural, historical, and personal examples exist. However, these are all well known and will serve as examples.

I pray that we will see supernatural confrontations come as a result! Clear cut issues just as Elijah was able to do. The God who answers by fire..HE IS GOD! The God who instantly heals the cancer and brings wellness when the doctor has said it is incurable..HE IS GOD. The God who supernaturally provides substanance for His people in the days to come when it may be unfindable..HE IS GOD! The God who brings this cripple out a a wheel chair..HE IS GOD! The God who keeps supply in an area when everyone else is dying of starvation..HE IS GOD(remember the judgements of Egypt and the area of Goshen kept safe?)

Just to add to jimps thoughts....the only time we EVER see anyone question Jesus ability to heal was in Mark 9:22 which states

22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. BUT IF YOU CAN DO ANYTHING, take pity on us and help us.” (caps mine)

EVERY OTHER TIME in scripture that someone came to Jesus they said ., "if you will you can make him whole". They never questioned Jesus ABILITY..they questioned only his WILLINGNESS.

as you may know..the Mark 9 account happened after a man came to Jesus to have a demon cast out of his son and the disciples were unable to cast it out. The lesson seems clear..when someone doubts the ABILITY of the Lord Jesus Christ it is because we, those who claim to follow him, have not manifested the truth and power of God. Do you see that? The only time Jesus ability was questioned WAS WHEN THOSE WHO CLAIMED TO FOLLOW HIM COULD NOT PRODUCE THE POWER AND PROOF! So it is today.

God give us divine show downs with the enemy that will demonstrate to the world that you alone are the living God..that you alone are the one who answers by fire when believing prayer is offered in the name of Jesus.

If we as believers will stop spending so much time attacking ministries and rather look into the mirror and ask why the supernatural is not manifested in our lives then we may have started to see the answer.

Produce your first miracle before criticizing someone elses.. someones that you probably have no understanding of.

Let's see the undeniable supernatural produced through us in direct opposition to the enemy... then we will see folks turning to Jesus Christ and not to Islam!

Sorry about the length..hoever, it was in my heart to share.

Blessings All,
Solomon

My question is what is there in Islam that people find so attractive?
Islam is attractive to the world's definition of how to come to God, because to come to God through the righteousness of Jesus Christ and not their own is foolishness to them.

hi, man will always choose the tree of the knowledge of good and evil over the tree of life.they are more comfy in wrapt in strict rules that direct them to discipine them and their lives. they want rigid control so they feel how proud they are about their devotion to god.that is why they are good and we are bad.it is like a christian who rigidly fasts and prays to show God how good he is so that he might have favor with God.it is sometimes hard to really believe in the finished work of the cross for our salvation and sanctification, but we must for Jesus paid it all and all to Him i owe...sin has left a crimson stain and He washes white as snow..jimp

Usally I read these posts and some good points are made but we often don't. Its just not the revival this website hopes for, I believe, but we are on the right tract here family pray with me that we will learn here and start anew.

I felt lead to add this and this is why people aren't drawn to Christ. Because we don't live like this.

http://www.lastdaysministries.org/Articles/1000007174/Last_Days_Ministries/LDM/Discipleship_Teachings/Keith_Green/Aggressive_Christianity_Catherine.aspx

Let this rebuke you and humble your pride to the work of God.

"Intellectually I believe in both heaven and hell. But practically - the way I live daily - doesn't reflect the urgency of my claimed beliefs. If eternity were at the front of my mind, I'd pray far more for those distant from God. I'd share my faith in Christ on a daily basis. I'd serve my way into people's lives. Instead of accumulating more and more, I'd use everything I have to spread the gospel around the world. If I really believed, my life would look much different than it does." Craig Groeschel

We all have problems but we also know what to do and what those problems are. Pray and fast for these things to change, looking to Christ for all then we will see other around us change.

In Love,
Joe

Sorry if I am continuing on a theme it is strange to think what attracts women say more than men as it way more oppresive for women than men,
Why is it islam and not say something like the new age movement.

To me it is a scary statistic because it shows that people will believe any lie and any other religion that what is true

What affect is this going to have on our society our we up for a coup like Egypt?
How on earth does this affect evangelism and every aspect of life in England?
When is god doing to destroy mecca and destroy islam for his glory

On a positive (at least societally/culturally), the heads of Germany, England, and France, have recently renounced multiculturalism, and will begin working to roll Islam's effects upon their nations back.

hi,
They are just converting from one false religion to another.
Not from being saved to being islamic. If that happened ...well I am just not sure it could.
Yes their will be a falling away from Christ but towards the world,
Well it might be good thing that the Anglican Church dissapears, their comes a time when its christian in name only and the Anglican Church cant be far off that among others,The task remains the same whether they are muslims or not.Religion is Religion and Christ is the antidote,
