I thought I would put this out there as food for thought,for my brothers & sisters in Christ who love the Lord.- John 12:24 - Verily,verily,I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground & die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.- For years I had trouble understanding this particular scripture.I was raised in the city,& only exposed to agriculture,when I went to visit my grandparents.I am going somewhere with this thought,so please bare with me. If you buy a package of tomato seeds,that is what you have.A package of dry,small,crusty,dusty, tomato seeds.Not much good to anybody.I have never seen anyone make a salad,from a package of tomatoe seeds.You would be pretty disappointed if someone brought you to a nice restraunt,& the waiter came out with your salad,& it was a bowl full of dry tomatoe,cucumber, lettuce,& carrot seeds.It would take quite a bit of dressing & tea to wash it down the old esophagus.I don't think you would leave a tip,or ever come back to that restraunt.Hold that thought in your mind.I had the priviledge of working on a farm when I was younger.God taught me quite a bit about His Kingdom on that farm.See in this verse it not only refers to Christ"s death on the cross, but it also refers to your death also.I think that is why we have so many churches in America that offer fresh salads on the billboard,but when you get inside its just a warehouse for dry seeds.We have become to much of a selfcentered,selfseeking society.I am not going to go into our many whoes as a nation,I would run out of time & energy.The words of eternal life are still in that bible you have in your hands.If you take one seed out of that package of tomatoe seeds & put it in the ground it will reproduce after its own kind.See,it goes through this process called germination.What that basically is, it has to die to self,to produce more tomatoes. When you place it in the ground,the outer husk or shell,starts to rot & get soft.Then the inner life of the seed springs forth & reproduces after its own kind. And when the plant grows up,it will produce many seeds,inside of the tomatoes that are on it.I have seen tomatoe plants produce as many as 50 - 75 tomatoes in one season.And those tomatoes are full of seeds themselves.OK - now time to bring this home to your own heart.What are you doing with the gospel of Jesus Christ,that God has planted in your heart? Are you keeping it to yourself & becoming a dry seed.Or are you using all of your resources to share His gospel with others.Are you - the believer- sharing His love,mercy,peace,& compassion with those who are dieing from spiritual hunger,all around you?Or are you a plant that has been firmly planted in the ground of God"s love,and are being fruitful for His glory !!!!!!!!!People need to hear about the Jesus who loves you.Share Him with as many people as you can! STOP DOING YOUR OWN WILL,IN HIS NAME,AND START DOING HIS WILL,IN HIS NAME !!!!!God wants to live in your heart,& express himself through your mouth & hands & body.Will you become a vibrant living plant for your savior? Or will you become a dry,dusty,lonely,seed, on a shelf somewhere not producing anything that glorifies Jesus Christ.What will you do with the precious gift of eternal life that Jesus Christ has given you in His death upon the cross? Luke 9:23-25 And He said to them all,If any man will come after me,let him deny himself,and take up his cross daily, and follow me.For whosoever will save his life shall lose it(selfishness):but whosoever will lose his life for my sake,the same shall save it.For what is a man advantaged,if he gain the whole world,and lose himself,or be cast away.Give your life (Jesus is your life Christian)away with as many people as you can share Him with this year & you will have the best year of your life ! The bible talks about the soul-winners joy,& it talks about those who bear precious seed,will return with sheaves(souls),& abundant joy !!!Amen. (P.S.- The seed is Christ & His Word, The ground is your heart,The water is the Holy Spirit of God hovering over the seed & convicting your heart,The fruit is a born-again Christian whom is surrendered to Christ & allowing Him to live through his vessel-spirit,soul,& body.)
