February 16: You Are Not Alone

“I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.” John 16:32.

Oh, what words are these! Who can harm you now? What can befall you? When and where can you be alone, if your heavenly Father is with you? He is with you on the ocean; He is with you on the land. He is with you in your exile; He is with you at home. Friends may forsake, and kindred may die, and circumstances may change- but “my Father is with me!” may, still be your solace and your boast.

And, oh, to realize the presence of that Father- to walk with God in the absorbing consciousness of His loving eye never removed, of His solemn presence never withdrawn, of His encircling arm never untwined- welcome the solitude, welcome the loneliness, welcome the sorrow, cheered, and sweetened, and sanctified by such a realization as this! “I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.”

Well, I feel very alone right now as I go through a very tumultuous time in my life.

Even when i think I am saying and doing the right things, I am thwarted by either the dificulties of my relationship with my wife or I am struggling with feeling myself.

I pray, I pray, and I pray again, my faith is waning, for I do not understand what is occuring right now at this point in my life.

OUR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS A PLAN FOR YOU

God has a preconceived plan to deliver us out of our fiery trials. No matter what you are going through, God has a plan tailored for every difficulty. It is a plan that could never be conceived or imagined by the human mind.

Take, for example, the fiery trials facing Israel in the desert. There was no bread, no food of any kind. What committee, what intercession group could have come up with this, “Let’s pray that tomorrow we wake up and discover white flakes of angel’s food covering the ground—with a taste of honey.”

God had a plan—a miracle, inconceivable plan. Incredible!

Then there was no water. The hot desert parched their lips. There was no way to survive, humanly speaking. Hundreds of thousands weeping, facing a life-and-death crisis.

Who could have imagined how God could save the day? Who could have pointed to a big rock and suggested to Moses, “Go; strike it and cause a river of water to flow out”?

But God had a plan—conceived in his mind long before the crisis.

Go back to the Red Sea, with an impassible sea before them—Pharaoh’s army racing toward them. Impossibilities! Hopelessness!

I hear it, I quote it, I read, but this is the hottest situation i have found myself in, it seems as though God isnt listening to my hearts cry

Praying for you. When you are overwhelmed with waning faith and fears, recite the 23rd Psalm. There is wonderful power in every phrase in that marvelous Psalm. "3: He restoreth my soul. . . .
4: . . . . for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

Just sit and be still and let God do His perfect work in you. He will never take His eyes off of you. The trouble you are having now is completely clear to Him. He will not send more than necessary to bring about what he wants within you.

The Shepherd's rod and staff are used for direction and correction. Try to relax and give your heart to him.

On another thought that keeps nagging me, you do not mention if your wife is saved. If you are having troubles, I am sure things are no bed of roses for her either. Who else would understand how you are feeling better than the other person who is feeling the same strain. Allow it to bring you together. Try praying with her. If she is not saved, she needs to hear her husband pray. These are just my suggestions, having been in similar spots. Going through rough spots can be very bonding, even though it is painful.

I just finished a very rigorous accelerated RN nursing program that moved my family and I from Flordia back to New Orleans.

I began having anxiety attacks and it bought a grey cloud of depression over me, it started during mental health nursing. I do not even know how i got through this program. I have suffered, and I say this with tears and heartache.

All sorts of thoughts and worries now plague me, I do not know how to get rid of them or pray them away, doesnt seem to happen that way for me. I have been rethinking if the Lord loves me, if he really cares, my faith is reaching out, but nothing makes sense or even feels right right now.

In the midst of this ordeal, my wife began to be used by either her flesh or the devil himself, she began to annoy me and knock at my situation with different arguments. 2010 was nothing for me to laugh about, 2011 has started off from when 2010 left off, but more specific, as it pertains to the two of us. We do believe that we love each other, but both of us are saying the same things about each other, but it appears that we arent listening properly.

I don't know, all I know is that all I can say in prayer right now is "help", I have no other solutions or ideas as to what to do. God seems to allow the fire to burn, and it seems as though He just leaves us.The word says contrary, but I sure feels as though he has left her and I to suffer, and we have two beautiful boyz that need us.

Again, Please keep us lifted up, I am also praying for us...

I prayed for you through the night. I would suggest turning on your worship music and leave it on even if it is in the background. And sing. Sing songs loudly in your home. You will be surprised. I have sang songs in hard times with tears running down my face and soon it lifted and I was able to turn my eyes upon Jesus and the things of this world grew strangely dim. Read the psalms out loud and ask God to see your wife as being part of you. How you want love and forgiveness and to be understood and to have mercy and grace shown to you when you are not at your best. Ask the Lord to help you and turn your eyes to blessing her and being kind. It will work. Dont ever give up. Jesus is worth it and He will help you and soon this will pass and you will be able to share with others what God has done for you. Glory to God! Radio station on the internet.

If Jesus is especially glorified in the faith of His people, let yours be a life of faith in all its minute detail. Live upon Him for spiritual supplies; live upon Him for temporal supplies. Go to Him in dark providences, that you may be kept from sinking: go to Him in bright providences, that you may be kept from falling. Go to Him when the path is rough, that you may walk in it contentedly: go to Him when the path is smooth, that you may walk in it surely.

Let your daily history be a traveling to Jesus empty, and a coming from Jesus filled. Keep the truth constantly and prominently before your eye, “The just shall live by faith.” If this be so, do not expect that God will ever permit you to live by sight. Bend your whole soul submissively to Him in this matter. Let His will and yours be one. If, in the course of your wilderness journeyings, He has brought you into a great difficulty, yes, to the very margin of the sea, still, at His bidding, “go forward,” though it be into that sea. Trust Him to cleave asunder its waters, making a dry passage for your feet, and causing those very waves that threatened to engulf you, now to prove as a cloud canopying you above, and as walls of strength fencing you in on every side.
