NO FEAR!!!!!!

sermonindex Feb 28, 2011

i just HAVE to say this;

none of us here are dummies, (well except me...:-)
we all can read the headlines, we all see the news, we all know people suffering financially, we all know people suffering attacks from the enemy.....that is, i personally witness many saints being attacked INTENSELY via spiritual warfare. we see what's going on throughout the ENTIRE world, and its very perplexing, strange, and vemonous...ominous....just like a big arrow, pointing to a sign that reads "fear!"

so we know all this, right?

and it's so so easy to get wrapped up in fear....and as i live and breath this moment, my prayer for us all.

all of us is this:

that we pitch fear as far as we can throw it, and just live in Faith, that we rest IN Jesus, and be comforted by God the Holy Ghost.

i know...its easier said than done. we're all broken clay vessels, we have emotions, we have this 'flesh' to deal with and fear is just a poison thats HARD to keep from creeping into our very veins.

easier said than done, but i pray with all my heart and soul, that i, you, us, just cast fear aside, and rest in Jesus, and His Faith, is our Faith.

thats my prayer,

unseen, you saints, i love you all in Jesus' love.,

neil

ps....and as i re-read and re-prayed my words, that we learn that the only applicable use of the word "fear" is to Fear God, and as English is so impoverished in many ways, to Fear God, is not some witless, unthinking quaking "fear"......but the correct wording is to regard God in reverential awe, salted with intense Love for Him, intense passionate Love for Jesus.

Thank you so much for posting this! Some of us are more prone to fear in the natural, I expect. I am one of those. If you've been following the David Wilkerson devotionals posted on SI, he did one a week or so ago on unbelief. Aside from the fact that some of us have "fearful" personalities, and aside from the unfolding world events which can cause legitimate fear, we are really guilty of unbelief when we allow ourselves to give in to fear (and perhaps even "feed" it)....Anyone who's been a Christian for very long has heard that the more we come to KNOW God, the more we fear Him and the more we love Him. It naturally follows, then that we will not be so guilty of unbelief and of fear. I so appreciate your prayers for the saints on this - I stand guilty.

The LORD Bless your honesty dear mama. And He will!!

The only secret that He's taught me in the fear dept is to face my fears HEAD-ON ! Whatever I wake up fearing or whatever causes anxiety to raise it's nasty head - I've had to learn to run right into and tackle the thought or action involved in the fear, like a football player :) and every time, found that the fear/anxiety was an injection of a lie from the enemy and GOD just smiles when we find that out. Whatever we fear, we need to face-off with instead of avoiding. That's faith in action. I always say that no one is a bigger worry-wort than I was. Won't set out to prove that to anyone here and now though. :)

Bless The King of The Saints for giving us what we don't have within ourselves, by the Spirit of Christ Jesus inside us and for giving us His WORD as well.

Never say you're guilty. Only that you're desiring to work on it, with our Creator, Who knows us from the inside out, from before conception and is still working on us all - until we see Him Face to face.

.... Amen, to your words - the more we love Him, the more we fear Him, and the more we fear Him, the more we love Him and on it goes --- the more we know Him, the more we want to know more of Him and the more we know Him, the more we see how little we ourselves know. The sign of maturity is seeing more each year how little we truly do know and how Great He is compared to us - as even His closest disciple fell in fear before His feet in Rev 1. Oh Bless Him.

Amen, yes Mama, we all need to pray one for another always.
Amen dear Sister in Christ Jesus!
See you on the Other Side - Smiling. :)

Thanks for the encouragement.....I may have a fear problem, but I don't have an honesty problem (just ask my kids :) )

Your words remind me of the verse, "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." So if God has not given us fear, it is the enemy to be sure. It is a process....one I am thankful to be on :)

Neil, Thanks for your prayers, and the encouragement. There's a story that I'm a bit fond of that I believe fits here very well...

The Known or the Unknown
Several generations ago, during one of the most turbulent of the desert wars in the Middle East, a spy was captured and sentenced to death by a general of the Persian army. The general, a man of intelligence and compassion, had adopted a strange and unusual custom in such cases. He permitted the condemned person to make a choice. The prisoner could either face a firing squad or pass through the Black Door.
As the moment of the execution drew near, the general ordered the spy to be brought before him for a short, final interview, the primary purpose of which was to receive the answer of the doomed man to the query: "What shall it be-the firing squad or the Black Door?"
This was not an easy decision, and the prisoner hesitated, but soon made it known that he much preferred the firing squad to the unknown horrors that might await him behind the ominous and mysterious door. Not long thereafter, a volley of shots in the courtyard announced that the grim sentence had been fulfilled.
The general, staring at his boots, turned to his aide and said, "You see how it is with men; they will always prefer the known to the unknown. It is characteristic of people to be afraid of the undefined. Yet I gave him his choice."
"What lies beyond the Black Door?" asked the aide.
"Freedom," replied the general, "and I've known only a few brave enough to take it."
The story illustrates the situation many people face each day-a choice between the known and the unknown. Few have the courage to come alive, to stop being engulfed in a sea of mediocrity - humbled and dulled by failure to recognize their own potential. They lack the fortitude to stop living their lives in a mentally-chloroformed condition in that ignoble mass of humanity... the uncommitted. The choice is yours (Philippians 4:13). "By grace ye are saved through faith" (Ephesians 4:28). "We live by faith, not by sight" (2Corinthians 5:7).

In Christ,

Ron

Thank you Natan4Jesus,

I appreciate the post,

I am in a whirlwind of fear and excessive worry at the moment, some of u know this, and I am consumed with thoughts that I have to fight, and trust me, if i wanted them to leave, I just would not think about any of it, but it is as if they are with me from morning until nite.

Let me say this for any that have prejudged, I have tried everything except fast for 40 days and nights, and I cannot do anymore work for the Lord, I cannot fight, kick, and scream for his love, I just need God to love me.

I feel like a head case, but I continue to call on Jesus Christ, please someone tell me this will end, someone tell me that the Lord will deliver me with a much needed outstretched arm, all of this has been brought on by marital problems, childhood problems, and now, nursing school sent me into clinical anxiety and depression......

I have heard sermons, listen to songs, prayed, cried my absolute eyes out, screamed to God did u hear me?, Rebuked the enemy, I just want to rest with the Lord's peace quietly and faithfully.

I have been calling out to Him, I question, I have so many questions, pray for this poor man. I have seen doctors, tired of there gibberish, read enough about diagnosis and disease processes to be spooked. So there it is, I wait for his deliverance everyday, but I feel forgotten.

I know there are others that are worse off than myself, and probably more in need than what I appear, but this is my earnest of prayers to the God of creation, to the God of all existence.

I understand...more than I can say. I will pray. Who ever heard of a little child having to fight, kick and scream for their parent's love? A good parent just LOVES.....How much moreso does God just LOVE.....And yet we all feel abandoned and forgotten at times.....May God show you His love in a very tangible way.....

Thank you Neil,

I come against fear, worry, doubt and anxiety everyday, for they are the enemies of faith, I realize this, but I am to the place where daily I practically cuss at the four mentioned above outloud in the privacy of my home, that I will not be driven by any of them from day to day.

I just want to feel like I speak. I am great at encouraging others, but I need to Jesus to be all that I tell others He is to them, for until then, I am fighting and ripping through every piece of lie there is until the truth be made manifest.

Continue to pray for me, and on top of this, my wife is a very negative and selfish person, and many times I want to leave her and my kids behind. Am I gonna do that? NO, just expressing the frustration that mounts up.

i wanted to 'give' you both one thing apiece.

you know you have my prayers, and my love, sight unseen.

a dear brother, who's name was "bought" had a website called "Fire on the Altar"....its still there, has a lot of compilations from the brethern. That site was how i met my dear Greg. i made compilations, as Led by the LORD, and i have one for each of you

Man of God, this comp i made "Hosanna"

http://www.fireonthealtar.com/compilations/neil%20g/Hosanna.mp3

what i wanted to convey via Scripture and music, that we are all just people, and that includes both pre Messianic Scripture and post....we all get cold, we all get frightened, but Hosanna...if you decide to listen to it, just listen with your eyes closed, open heart. i'm so honored that i can 'give' you something, please accept this and my prayer is that it, in some small measure will bless you.

mama...the comp, "Worship in Your Way"

http://www.fireonthealtar.com/compilations/neil%20g/Worship%20in%20your%20way2.mp3

i also pray it blesses you, one of my favorite passages is how in 1st Samuel, Hannah despearted heart cry's seemed like the wailings of a drunk to Eli, and how WRONG he was.
same thing eyes closed and i pray it blesses and comforts.

its the only thing i can give you both, dear saints, in that Jesus may comfort you, much love in Jesus, neil
