Didn't see a post on this. Watched some bits of this movie and liked what I saw. Was curious of anyone else's thoughts on the movie.

have not viewed it though

Let me correct that, I started to view it and immediately killed it. The piece starts with frantic drumming or banging and then shows people possessed. Not anything I want to study.

Hey I watched it and I thought it was really eye opening. It basically films different things that God is doing around the world. Some parts are really good and show genuine powerful moves of God.

There may be some other parts that people could find "iffy" or quesitonable, but overall it makes some really good points.

Yes the beginning is a bit of a shocker and could but a huge turn off for some but I would suggest that you watch the whole thing before making a judgement there are better parts in the documentary. However what was shown is something that happens in the world and it is biblical.

I believe one of the reasons why we dont see demonic deliverances on a regular basis in NA is because the devil doesnt need to show himself we just dont believe in anything supernatural period. When I read about the early church it seems like these things were pretty "normal"

sermonindex Oct 25, 2011

As long as there is a theology that denies the supernatural working of God then there will never be a miraculous move of God in this country. You read in Gospel for Asia, which ironically is recommended by SI, about deliverance and healing in India. Yet I have seen people on threads condemn miracles, signs, and wonders. Jesus could not do any miracles in his own home town because of their lack if faith. And you wonder why there is no revival in America.

I used to be a huge fan of Furious Love and there is another film by the same director Finger of God. It's a weird coincidence that this thread is here because God convicted me today to get rid of these two films. Why? They obsessively cover anything remotely spiritual and attribute them to the working of the Holy Spirit. In Finger of God they interview people like John & Carol Arnott, founders of Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. This "church" is involved in all kinds of demonic manifestations like uncontrollable laughing, drunkenness of the Spirit, and physical contortions. In Furious Love they feature Jason Westerfield (the guy in the trench coat praying for people in Salem, MA). Westerfield is a proponent of the heretical belief that God is intent on bringing his kingdom on earth NOW. In Westerfield's scene he motions with his hand and says God is bringing a wind and he claims warrior angels are surrounding him. I do not deny JW has a spiritual power of healing, but his theology makes me suspicious if it's truly from the Holy Spirit.

These are only some of the things I find wrong with the film. There are some good things like the African revival meeting where people manifesting demons are taken to a tent to be prayed for. That footage seems quite genuine based on the girl's earnest repentance. I also find the the former satanist girl's testimony to be very moving.

With this said, please don't make the same mistakes I did. Don't blindly accept (or ignore) the things that are unequivocally UNBIBLICAL!

For a movie that claims to be from a Christian perspective, it without a doubt fails the James 1:17 test:

"EVERY good gift and EVERY perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is NO VARIATION or shadow due to change."

and just for good measure 1 John 1:4

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world."

There's also another film coming out by this director in 2012 called The Father of Lights. Please beware brethren!

Hey njhoover,

Thanks for replying, I am in agreement with much of your concerns! Especially the part in the "Finger of God" of God with the gold teeth and "mana."

Again there are some really good content in both of the movies, so I wouldnt throw the baby out with the bath water.

However, I am just confused on one thing

"Westerfield is a proponent of the heretical belief that God is intent on bringing his kingdom on earth NOW"

Can you explain this a bit more? From what I believe I thought that as Christians we are supposed to bring and pray for the Kingdom of God to come to earth now!

Doesnt Christ pray "thy Kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven..."?

I think this is less about Jason Westerfield himself and more a theological inquiry.

Westerfield is a proponent of the heretical belief that God is intent on bringing his kingdom on earth NOW

Gal. 2:20, 1 John 4:4, Col. 1:27....if Christ lives in us all, thus the Kingdom as well. Christ is All-in-all, He IS love, He IS mercy, He IS grace, and He IS that very Kingdom. We are commanded to pray that this Kingdom is to come to this earth and Christ in and through us bring it, for we are His Body; the very Body of Christ that in Him dwells the Kingdom.

B.H. Clendennen talks about this that when we are born again, the Kingdom is birthed in us.

Other than that, yes I do agree with you that there are things inside that movie that seem kind of sketchy. But of course at the same time, I do not want to be hindered by the sin of unbelief. We just need to go to the Scriptures ourselves and see what occurred in the Early Church and apply that biblical context to the supernatural things we see. We do not want to go beyond what it written that is for sure.

just becasue something is supanatural and there are manifestation ,doesnt mean that is is bibical

we all know that fasle propherts will have great power to decieve with miracals and healing

pagan spirits perform prophecy, signs ,miracals and healings

so none of those things are a sign of bibilical manfestation

what is the gosple do they preach ,and what jesus do they preach ,,

and do these workers of this gifts ,have true fruit of the spirit

tod bently was agood example of a fasle prophert ,who failed in the spirual fruit department

i fully believe in all the gifts of the spirit

so im not being biast

miracals is not the mesuring stick of weather ones faith is genuine , neither are any gifts for that matter

brothagary That's a big problem I have with these movies. All they care about is healing, displaying supernatural power. There is little interest in sharing the gospel. The very most they say is "Jesus healed you."

sermonindex Oct 27, 2011

Ny statement still stands bro. The sign gifts autheticate the gospel. The sign gifts are from the Holy Spirit. Deny the sign gifts you deny the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit you have no move of God.

By the way how come you folks not rapping on Gospel for Asia? They believe in miracles to autheticate the gospel. That ministry has been recommended by Sermon Index. Prior to Atlanta the last SI conference was held on the SI grounds. The sermons of K. P. Yohannan are carried in SI archives. Are you going to tell me Gospel for Asia is false?

Open Doors and Voice of the Martyrs report on a regular basis Moslems coming to Christ through dreams and visions. Are they false?

The cry of the religionist is its of the devil. That sane cry was echoed back when Jesus was healing. If Sermon Index had been around then some of the people in this forum woukd cry with the Pharisees by the devil he heals. This is sad.

Whereas there are some demonic manifestations associated with signs and wonders you cannot dismisses all signs and wonders as from the devil. For one thing you run into danger of blaspheming the Spirit. This is the unpardonable sin.

I have been listening to Acts on my digital Bible. It is astounding how the early church walked in signs and wonders. They enjoyed more of the Holy Spirit than we do. Yet if SI had been in Acts I can hear it now. It's of the devil

.
There are credible moves of God taking place in the world today. There are healings, signs, and wonders taking place on this planet in countries no one has heard of. Some of these have been documented in the transfornational videos by George Otis. But I can gear it now. It's of the devil.

The arrogant of Jesus day never saw a movement of God. We in our arrogace will never see a movement of God. But the Holy Spirit will aleays be present where he is welcome. By the way God spoke that too me. But you will say its of the.....

Hello All,

While were on the topic of documentaries of Christianity around the world, I thought I would share 1040.

http://1040movie.com/

Its a documentary about what God is doing in Asia (places like China, Indonesia) specifically the 1040 window!

The focus is completely different than "Furious Love" as it seeks to capture less signs and wonders and more the heart of Christianity.
