I wonder if anyone has attempted to dip into this enormous book,

The History of Protestantism

by James A. Wylie (1808-1890)?

If you search for 'Nuremberg', there is a description of the torture chambers, which the author toured while researching the book. It makes very grim reading.


Today, it was announced that three Arabic-speaking BBC journalists (of different nationalities) were apprehended and held for 21 hours in Libya, giving them a ghastly insight into what others are suffering for political freedom with no hope of 'escape' apart from the whim of their persecutors, or eventual death. Hearing a tiny bit of what they heard and saw brings the History of Protestantism into focus, and the necessity of burning for Christ.
