Caim Prayer-What IS this?

Have any of you heard of this? I had requested prayer for a family member. The request was made of another family member that I had been so pleased to learn was growing in the faith, turning on her former life and leaning on the Lord. When it was suggested that I utilize this type of prayer I was immediately uneasy and couldn't understand why because I had never heard of it. After very little searching it appears to me to be nothing more than another ungodly form of visualization. Any insight would be so appreciated. The only thing I know is that it is Celtic.
