I agree, I tolerated the NIV and even thought it very reliable but if they are going to be making that major a change then No thank you.

I went from the Kings James as newly born again Christian never reading a Bible up to that point. Then I picked up an NIV and I really got a lot out of it. The NIV soon become watered down. But now as a mature Christian I have been reading the NKJV "Knowing God Bible" and my New American Standard "Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible". I wouldn't change.

Yeah I have an older NIV that I got when I was first baptised and a NLT which I got for Christmas a long while back. I mostly do the same as you NKJV and NASB are great, I also read the AMPlified bible its pretty awesome.

Has anyone ever heard of or read the Jerusalem Bible?

Actually never mind on the Jerusalem Bible I just googled it. I inherited a huge library when I moved and that was one of the books that was in their collection along with a ton of other bibles, I will have to research them all because some of them are translations I have never even heard of.
